Assuming there is another patch at all... You can always strike some middle ground like nerfing Pathfinder's moving sight but after they are stationary for some amount of time they get their full LOS back (like spotting scopes).
Honestly I think this should be done with all "maphack" units as I feel like at some point it was decided to give a lost of doctrinal units large LOS and it just waters down the fog of war mechanic and tilts commander selection because of how absurdly useful the extra LOS is on top of the other officer/whatever abilities those units have. Really hope COH3 doesn't have all-in-one recon units like these. Stuff like T 70 recon mode and Major Recon Pass are much much better design IMO.
I literally said the same thing in another thread. It doesn't make sense that a moving infantry unit has the same sight range when stationary. This should be made standard on all enhanced vision infantry so that you can't BS your way of a swell placed flank. |
I do think population is the value that should balance the game when everybody is maxed out. For me there is no faction thing about it. No faction should be anyhow more population heavy than another. A faction may lean more to being depended on a resource manpower, fuel or munition but this shouldn’t be the case for population. Population has to be balanced across all factions the same way around combat value and versatility, else some factions will be more powerful in lategame than others. That should be avoided.
Population should not only include the Vet0 out of the box performance of a unit but should integrate how good a unit scales into lategame with veterancy and available upgrades.
Regarding the SU-85 same population for FF/SU-85 is fine, they are around the same combat value in lategame. But I can’t see how the big cost differences are justified. SU-85 may have a fixed turret but it also has the highest basic dps of all allied TDs, scales fine, is a great sight tool (especially at vet1) and is the most durable allied TD due to its clearly lower target size. I do thing FF and SU-85 should meet somewhere in the middle.
I don’t play Brit’s so not sure if it is out of favor but don’t tulips do a crap ton of damage and stun? Maybe a way to dissuade spam. |
If they do nerf both units it is probably better to just take a step back and look at other unit performance. For example the 50cal used to be able to pack up extremely quick but it was nerfed hard. Now MG comes later and has nothing better vs MG42 except pen which is sort of useful but Armor piercing rounds are also available. If pack up time can’t be changed what about burst length.
Another more involved change could be one single up tech. So after you go LT or CPT and further tech for LV that tech counts for both. So if you back tech everything is available. It would make airborne less attractive. |
Quick game about 12 mins, just thought he had a funny name as a Penal user. Went with Armored assault, he went with all gren build so I focused on beating him in uncomfortable engagements. He eventually went VSL but it was too late I had wiped a few squads so he couldn't push me effectively. |
You are absolutely right. Frustration is normal but when I see such replays as because of their errors OKW player writes "fuck u" or something similar, I come out. Such replays should not, in my opinion, be shown. And the game itself is good. I've seen all your games for about half a year. The ones from terror tactics are the best. It is a pity that it is not OKW Sturmtiger or ENG Avre.

Why put a replay here if you are dealing with a primitive offending the other player how to lose the game?
Not sure what you are attempting to say. I posted the game since I have been attempting to try non meta strats and commanders. Opening worked out well, game was pretty good until he lost P4J, which he would have had 2 if he had waited a bit longer. Frustration is part of the game and he let it get the best of him. I ain’t mad at him. |

I would prefer if Rapid Conscription and Relief Infantry was a small passive bonus instead of an activated ability based on how many units/models you lost. Really hard to use this ability well when you have to expect to lose infantry.
What about making the ability reduce reinforce time and cost by 30%, that way big pushes are rewarded and getting your army back into fighting position a bit easier. |
Wanted to try Armored assault tactics, IS2 seems to come at really good timing with T2 AT gun stall. Similar to Shock Rifle but Radio intercept lets you keep tab on enemy timing to make sure your keeping up. Opponent didn't play that great so game is more proof of concept for me and it worked fairly well. Early pressure and decap from 4 penals allowed me to get my tank first and kept pressure up through the entire game. |
Played this game yesterday, had several games were I would do decent early but opponent would go for 4 mains and just blob me down.
Decided to go for slower opening but lets me keep up with pressure or get more creative with flanks. Also army not held back in games where CP isn't accumulating as fast as I would like.
Went engi/T1/X4 penals then base healing to try and keep bleed down. Early game went about expected was able to beat him back a few times so he started to blob up. We attacked each others cut offs and and blob battle each other. With the increased DPS I wasn't bleeding as much compared to before so I was able to also call in Airborne squad and keep inf pressure up. He got Flak at about same time which worked well in some situations but there are a lot of sight blockers which limited some of its effectiveness. Due to early retreats and keeping losses to minimum I was able to get AT out and chase away his flak. Due to pressure he didn't seem to have time to repair so I get the kill a little bit later while he was protecting cut off.
My units can pretty much pressure as much as needed now so I start to claw map back and beat him up. I do have to constantly keep readjusting due to his double leigs behind sight blockers but they are more annoying then anything. He gets Obers out but my KV8 comes out around the same time so I have plenty of targets, I abuse fear propaganda when raks attack and follow up with infantry or KV8. I end up wiping 2 VG which puts the game in my favor. His P4J gets good hits in against my infantry but I follow up with SU85 which zones out his tank.
I eventually try to get cute and catch his raks out of position but he must have seen me. My KV8 goes down but he loses his P4J due to over aggressive chase of KV8. I think he loses Ober squad around the same time so he starts to full on rage. I also make Howi and surround it with mines. I pretty much bombard him with either fear propaganda or Howi and rebuild KV8 to pressure his infantry. He makes another P4J but it really cant do much. He eventually rushes his beat up P4J to take out howi but he runs over mine and gets engi and gun crit. I kill it off with Su85 and rush his base with KV8 for the win. |
Wanted to try T1/T2 back tech with Counterattack but the map didn't seem to be the best choice for Shocks.
Noticed he didn't have fussies, so went engi/penal/clown/2 penals. Not much happens early, poking each other.
Get out flame clown car, bully him for a bit and go for his cut off. Have some decent fights trades are about even.
I lose the clown car to a faust and follow up, lock in commander around this time and also make airborne with PPSh to save on muni.(So much for not being good for shocks.)
His Flak does good job of getting him map, I make AT gun, hit him with it and makes him a bit more conservative.
I finally get base healing to help slow down some bleed while also teching up to get out KV8.
Finally get it out, rush southern gas force him back and decrew RAK, I try to satchel it but P4J makes appearance which surprises me since I didn't think his map control was that much better. He wipes my Penal which is cool.
I had been saving a little MP decide to get 2nd AT gun instead of replacing infantry, during one of his pushes I get Flak track so my infantry can be a bit more aggresive.
I then get out SU85 since he will probably make Panther, which he does make. We poke and prod each other again and I finally get a wipe, Ober squad which drops it LMG. Pick it up with Penal and get my very own terminator squad.
I also build Howitzer to try and slow down any pushes or repairs, it literally gets to VET2 later on with 0 kills, never seen that shit before but whatever.
He pushes me with Panther but 2At guns/SU waiting hit him hard and I think he misclicked and accidently pushed forward again. He loses it and games tilts my way now.
Gets out 2nds P4J which I cant fault him for, good armor and good AI.
He finally get tired of my howi bombarding his side/base so he rushed it with P4J and called in arty strike as he backs out he runs over mine.
Go time, rush him with everything and send my BABY, the KV8 to stall 2nd P4J which kills my KV8 but he loses both tanks. Good trade and I make another KV8. I pretty much spam fear propoganda and push with KV8. He only has 1 vetted squad at this point due to wipes so I win most engagements and win game. |
