I think I'll just add blizzards, I just have to go through all the presets to see which ones look fine and not too extreme.
What kind of variables are you able to modify? You listed quite a lot but werent able to modify any of those? =/ |
Now that my first winter map is playable I realized that my units never freeze.
I dont want to have blizzards in my map but I think I remember that someone wrote that it is possible to add this kind of temperature and even modify how quickly soldiers freeze to death.
Am I right? Is this possible? And if so: How?

Hey,
the question is in the title.
I saved my atmosphere as an .aps file but obviously it wont appear in the atmosphere loading menu, because those preset atmosphere are saved in the data.sga which we cant touch. How do I load it then? |
The markers were the problem! Thanks |
You mean with the bound box right? |
I tried this in the first SP campaign mission map and got pretty much same results.
The tool seems to create the stamp but nothing happens when applying it by pressing Enter.
The Stamp tool seems more or less broken. I've only been able to stamp single objects.
Its behaviour is odd: I was able to create a stamp of my whole map (except tiles and heights) and actually place it a few times. But sometimes it just doesent work at all, and i havent been able to make it work with the bound box yet |
Alright, so Im almost finished with my map and now notice that there were a few stupid objects that created splats which you cannot remove anymore. Furthermore my map is a tiny little bit too small so a size increase would be nice as well.
Lets use the stamp tool...
but it doesent work. When using "select all" it works sometimes, I think only if i check a certain combination of the acquire boxes. Unfortunately that doesent copy the tiles nor the height. 90% of the time the stamp tool will not place anything when i try to place it on a new map: All the green boxes appear but nothing happens when hitting enter. The bound box (which as far as i understand does acquire height and tiles) never works because im unable to place a stamp created with it.
Any suggestions? |
I can't help you with the action markers right now, because i don't have access to the worldbuilder, but
... you can do a 30 minutes transition just increase the transition time (measured in secs)
Perfect, thanks!
Do you mean the lateral movement of smoke? If so, it depends on the wind settings. You may want to change the wind conditions in atmosphere (or was it terrain) settings.
Ah i didnt even know about the terrain settings. I had the idea to adjust the wind as well but did so in the weather conditions in the atmosphere settings. However: Changing the wind in the terrain settings does change smoke effects but doesent seem to have an effect on the snow mist which im trying to slow down |
Hi,
I was wondering if it is possible to lower the speed of the fx_attachment animations from action markers? There are certain smoke effects that look good, but unfortunately move unnaturally quick.
Also: I havent messed with atmosphere transitions yet and before I do I wanted to know if you can create a long but slow transition, basically changing the atmosphere from day to night over a time period of ~30 minutes and not a quick drastic change within a few seconds?

I hope you all realize that you cannot judge balance, sometimes not even design concepts of units and abilities based off some leaked pictures.
Furthermore a lot of things have been in the game files for quite some time: Puma, Wirbelwind, Fallschirmjäger, medic upgrade for the sd,fz 251, defensive upgrades for trenches and many more.
While we probably will see most of these things eventually some are also simply ideas and tests.
Sure you could argue that "an ability a unit like that can never be balanced" or "look at what Relic did with previous commmanders" but just remember that Relic learns from their mistakes and has always fixed commander-related issues asap
Overall its sad to see that people are rather pi%%ed of about new things they see instead of being excited about them. Yes a veteran t34/85 might be OP as hell, it might just as well not be. But a veteran t34/85 is definitely a cool thing. |
