Cons can build green cover. You need start use it.
Not under fire though.
And this threat is all about current cover being too small for six-men squads. Or about not having any cover at all on some open maps. Both of this concerns nullify the whole idea of the patch. |

German weapon upgrades are actually less expensive, my dear. 50 muni LMG, pretty cheap and affordable.
Now, you don't clearly understand the entire issue this patch is causing. Imagine, ifAG sprint into cons squad, they will rip them in pieces. If consqripts do the same, trying to get into closer distance to throw the molotov, they will die.
There were huge changes made to game dynamics, however game developers were not smart enough to understand that applying such changes to old base will simply not work. And here are some examples, dear friend:
1. Soviet infantry fights are very very cover dependant now. IMO, that was a necessary change.
But do we have enough cover? NO. There are a lot of areas on a lot of maps, where cons have very little options for surviving because of abscence of ANY cover. Lousy sandbags, fences, and farming equipment do not provide enough cover to a six-men crew.
2. Molotov animation. By the time this poor fella pulls his Molotov, swings wide and throws into enemy, Germans will shred 4 out of 6 models. Molotovs don't insta kill, the crew can simply stand in flames for a couple of seconds and finish the massacre. Soviet player will have to hit retreat, thus losing the fight any way.
That's what we have been talking about for last three days, my dear SSHeine.
There is no whining like you German fan boys call it, we just simply address Relics attention to issues they created with raw and unfinished in terms of balance patch.
What can be done:
1. Change map design/ layout. If you want units to use cover - simply create cover, add more durable objects on the map.
2. Change conscripts and penals. Remove lousy molotovs but add smoke and RNG grenades. Increase the cost of HQ updates, or figure out anything else to make conscripts a fighting unit and not a veterancy feeding meat shield they are right now. |

Oh I know, trust me I really do. I use it in every game and.... it does NOT kill the whole unit!

er bro what game are you playing? 120mm still gibs.. I seen plenty of instagibs. Thats what the soviet army is good at, instagibbing german squads.
I guess RNG Gods don't really shine at me lately... but I haven't seen mortar gib kills in a quite long time. |
Good point.
My concern is about Steppes. Middle fuel and corner VP where both muni points are located have completely zero cover. Soviets will have especially hard time trying to get middle fuel; Germans just simply have to place their units into trench below, shoot everything with their superior weapons, and send pios to cap fuel.
Wide flanking is still an option, like double penal or double cons going through middle VP and swinging very wide around the trees, so this way they come right behind Germans.
Of course, such long flanking takes long time, leaving no window for sitting and capping.
I agree that the landshaft on the map has to be more elaborated. Like few burned down vehicles around most important points would add more depth to tactical gameplay. |

120mm insta gib mortar? Dude, what game are you playing? This thing got nerfed a long time ago. Even if you drop a shell right in the middle of a squad, it barely kills three models.
And this is still a very good deal because with one model left OH player will hit retreat. Retreat = won engagement.

Just a few notes.
Pioneers and assault grenadiers have different variants of the MP40. Same weapon profile, assault grenadiers are scaled up.
Same thing applies to conscript vs guard mosin, guards have a scales up rifle.
Pioneers so not scale well into the late game. They get poor combat veterancy which is meant to counter balance their base performance.
The biggest piece of advice I can give to players struggling, make sure you aren't fighting battles where you are out gunned or out numbered. If you see a Grenadier with an LMG, one conscript will not cut it. If you see two Grens, make sure you have 2 or more conscripts. If you see an assault grenadier charging you, sprint back as his ability will now be on cooldown. Pair up your conscripts so you can kite the SMG unit to death.
"Pair up your conscripts so you can kite SMG unit to death". Meaning that you kite back to your base to prevent suprise attacks from rear. Meanwhile, another "SMG unit" is simply capturing important points on the map. Great!
