The issue with all british tanks (except firefly) is that they vet up extremely fast, but the vet bonuses are mediocre. It's probably intentional though.
Cromwell vet is pretty good, better than T-34 and Sherman. |
Then perhaps that should tell you that Brit RE is over-performing and should be brought down slightly? Saying that Rear Echelon are "only" better than 3/4 repair units is silly.
I've left out Sturmpioneers and Assault Engineers because they are by definition multi-role units.
Uhm I mean Relic call them Rear Echelon but they are actually better at combat than "Combat" Engineer and "Assault" Engineer. People thought RE is supposed to be hanging back but these guys fight better than Conscript. For Axis, Pio got viewrange + flamer while Sturmpio got a whole bunch of ability so they both fight OK and have good combat potential.
It's by no mean a complain about RE, just weird naming convention from Lelic. |
alone the possibilty of upgrading your RE with weapon from the rack justifis that, their "combat abilitie" is one of the highest of all pioneer units.
Brit RE is still better at both fighting and repair, US RE is only better than Ass Engie and Combat Engineer, both of them are only good because of mines + demo. Axis pioneer has more utility. |
Im the only one that love cromwell spam ?
i have always gone Crommie spam since Churchill nerf. Cromwell is the most balanced Allied medium tank in game: good speed, decent gun, nice vet, benefit greatly from either Hammer or Anvil (Free Blitz + Tracking vs Hax Repair). Alternatively, I go dual Firefly if OKW plan to go KT/Jadgtiger or OH goes Elephant.
|
Currently in 1v1, don't bother with those upgrades, better save your fuel for Cromwell/Firefly first, than IS upgrade, Hammer/Anil is like OH T4, a luxury after you have everything. |
But once you get it - so glorious, fast-moving wipe-machine. \o/
That's nothing compared to vetted Stuka or SturmTiger, it just rekt everything. |
Well according to hollywood, wood bounces 88mm shells 100% of the time.
That is the property of Stalinwood, grown only by the will and effort of the glorious workers, blessed by comrade Stalin each days. Axis technology is no match for the people's ingenuity. |
Yes this is kind of the thing, really good players can win with more sub-par abilities. Take Magic The Gathering, for example, every 3 months a new set of 180-260 cards comes out. Every set, players of the most played competitive format, Standard, bitch and moan about how few of the cards are actually good enough for a competitive deck. You can build okay decks with sub-par cards and really good players can go to certain tournaments and win with them, but on the whole the best cards are played in the best deck for the best chance of winning consistently.
For anyone asking for all 100% of commanders to be competitive... it won't happen. It CAN'T happen, for something to be good, it has to be better than something else. Every 3 months millions of players spend HUNDREDS of dollars to buy boosters for a chance at 1% of the set's good cards (this is due to standard being a "rotating" format so every year cards from 2-3 sets will no longer be legal to play in standard).
Relic isn't forcing you to buy new commanders to keep playing the actual game. For those whining about weak commanders, there will always be those commanders which are better than others. That is how we define GOOD. When talking in regards to players, GOOD players can win with even something like NKVD Tactics. Some commanders you can play to have fun, but be ready to lose or keep playing and increase your skill. None of the commanders actively take away from any faction or handicap it, they all enhance them in some way(some more than others) and this is how I know there is no "worthless" commander.
NKVD united, power to Defense Commander, grab Storm Doctrine today. Seriously, I would pay top dollar to see anybody pull off with these commanders in tournaments. |
Keep in mind vcoh needed like 7 years to become okish, it was a mess at the beginning too
I talked about basic features like public lobby, in-game pause... COH2 does not even have these stuffs at launch, wtf does Relic think, even the old Starcraft got these features. And that's not even counting optimization problems. vCOH balance might not be ok at launch but the game ran way more stable than COH2. (I factored in PC's power too. vCOH is very PC-friendly, COH2 runs like a pig). |
this.
as much as m1919, recon run and M5 halftrack (not M3 Halftrack?) are going to be good, I want something new.
This commander, more than any other post-WFA commanders, feels like the old antiquated sov/ost commanders.
I wholeheartedly agree with your statement, Relic is way too spoiled with the current COH2 fan. Fixing current stuffs first before making new things. The game takes more than 1 year to introduce public lobby and currently after 2 years it does not even have in-game pause. All that money and COH2 still delivers less than COH1. |
