One thing is sure optimization for COH2 sucks ball compared to other Relic games, heck even 4v4 DoW2 does not tax my computer as much as 1v1 COH2. |
Problem with USF recon is that unless you choose Callie, there's not many unit that requires off-map recon and using Major for just one pass is a serious waste of muni, unless you float muni nobody use that ability, furthermore rifleman recon from recon doctrine does not work so that only leaves pathfinder and their beacon. |
COH2's UI feels like something from 2000s' RTS and even some of those games have better UI (Warcraft 3, CnC).
For modern UI, something like World in Conflict is perfect. |
Actually, blobbing is worse in coh1.
That's more like due to bad design of UK and PE, no body blob as USF or Wehr and PE blob do not work everytime. |

Don't forget uber sniper and the lack of inf-wiping vehicles, only PE got notable 222 and its armor is like wet tissue, Wehr Puma comes late as hell unless you skip T2. All in all, vCOH support weapon is a lot more effective than COH2, as a result we got megablobbing. |

But currently, Brit either rush AEC or go Bofor spam so it's not exactly unexpected, OKW can either go T1, get LeIG or go T2 and get Luchs/Puma/Stuka first all are viable options against UKF. |
Soviet late game is efficient. (except of some small adjustments)

Jagdtiger is an insane tank destroyer. Its really good in 2vs2 and above. I prefer it over a KT on some maps. Jagdtiger shines when you protect its flanks well and have plenty of sight to rek allied tanks from the fog of war. Not so potent on urban maps.
But that's why you got Sturmtiger, that thing is hilarious in cramped 2v2+ map like Ettelbruck. |
Where did I said that I'm refusing to use it? I use it when playing brits actually. I only said I don't like to get forced to build the AEC because brits can't hold on with non/dotrinal AT snare + AT gun or bazooka like USF and Soviet can.
AEC delays Cromwell tech and excludes the possibility to build Bofors so it isn't such a bad choice as you said. T-70 comes later by a huge margin, but the T-70 is not the main problem Oorah + AT-grenade + ZIS is enough to kill it.
LeiG is terrible? Lol, I use it quite often and its one of the best indirect firing units of the game. Especially versus brit emplacements it is the best unit. I experienced this as OKW and as brit player multiple times.
Raketen isn't terrible just not as good as LeiG. You should always have one around until you get the appropriate tanks. It is pretty cheap, can garrison, cloak and retreat while having a much better penetration than a 57mm AT-Gun and most allied tanks haven't that much armor. Its only real downside is its range but with cloak you can soften this drawback.
Don't forget raketen sneak at vet 1 they can move around cloaked and can be used as spotter for LeIG, OKW got pretty good support weapon, it's just that volk blob is generally more effective and easier to use, USF is the one faction that got truly sucky support weapons. |
There are other nice RTS games coming out, but due to close to non existent marketing no one hears of them
