The general idea is that cons can do anything except fighting and against OH weak DPS is not a crippling issue due to their fragility, against OKW, cons is inferior to volks, volks scale better, do not need as much micro as cons and without doctrine more utility. |
Looks interesting, but it doesn't support the latest War3 patch? Anyway, I'll probably give it a try after I practice on bnet some more, because it looks like all the hardcore players are on w3arena and I'll probably get stomped. On bnet I've had a fair mix of good and bad players so far, but my micro is terrible compared to what it used to be. Also playing lots of COH2 lately didn't help as War3 is much more fast paced.

Ah I loved that game, still hoping for another warcraft RTS. I just look at heroes of the storm graphics...and damn, that could be a nice looking warcraft game. What's your favorite hero/race?

Assault grens suffer the same way penal battalions do: they are incapable of handling any vehicles.
Assault grens getting some sort of AT would overshadow grens pretty solidly while also buffing one commander significantly.
I wonder how feasible it would be if instead of assault grens being a call-in, it was an upgrade for Grens. Add 1 man to a gren squad and replace their loadout with mp40s. (And I guess swap rifle nades for model 24s since they don't have rifles.) Keeping fausts wouldn't be a problem there.
Give Gren 2 MP44 upgrade + sprint and I'll be happy. That way AssGren will still scale to late game while not buff the commander too much. |
Weird to see the community agreeing on something for a change. I agree the Sherman is a great unit. Very good AI for its cost, easy to use but rewards good micro, the mobility and fast repairs fits well with the overall USF playstyle. Comes early enough to have a decisive impact, has good power without being difficult to counter. Cheap enough to use in risky attacks but not so cheap as to become a cheesy spam unit. My one beef with the sherman is it doesn't have the durability to draw fire away from flanking Jacksons, but I don't think that can really be addressed without needing a cost increase.
It just takes a bit of micro attention to figure out when to change shells. Best thing is to hit the button just after you've fired a shell.
E8 is another great USF tank, trading AI performance for greater AT. It's particularly good because its combination of good pen and moving accuracy enables it to pursue and actually get the kill shot on axis tanks, whereas most other tanks need to stop to take a shot that will often bounce anyway.
Anybody knows the speed and acceleration of Ez8 and Cromwell? I feel the Cromwell feels very speedy while my Sherman feels slower somehow. |
Yea, but they totally out of action in other modes, so... at least good working modernised Railway arty would make them more attractive for people in "higher" mods, don't you think so?
Railway Arty cost should be increased to 250 muni and it will fire only 1 mega HE shells. Currently people only use it for the first shell unless it is casted on a UK triplex so I think changing it would make OH more viable for team game against UK, current meta for UK in team game is Simcity => Cromwell/Comet spam or GTFO so it would also force them to change their strat too. |

Just give them base MG like all other factions, dunno why OKW keeps getting special treatment. |
