Had this game I played, yes I was doing terrible and was up against 6 or 7 tigers in a 1hr 20min game. How I was able to win. Flak for infantry and M20 scout car mines for the tigers. Set up ambush, mines disable tigers AT guns picking this sitting duck off and Jackson's popping in and out |
I like to use a few M20 scout car mines. Since I know the king tiger filles the German player with moral and arrogance, they seem to charge with this unit.
The M20 mine disables tanks, this ambush requires a couple 2or3 AT guns. Also have a couple Jackson's ready to ponce. If available drop arty on it, call ins but one better is the priest, that way you have enough for the M20 mines. Now the arty is only a bonuses for DMG on this bastard of a tank. It's main use will be too keep the swarm of engineers that seem to fallow buttcuddling this monster. |
What are the differences between the first Assault Squad? Having watched it, it looks about the same as the first one with a different color scheme on the UI and some new maps. Is the gameplay any different? On of my biggest gripes with MoW was you really needed a good memory on where you put what guys, because there was no way to tell who had what weapons without selecting his button on the left, and if he was in a squad then it was a real clusterfuck. If you wanted to get your SMG guys together for a CQB assault you had to cycle through all your troops until you found enough with the SMG because at a glance it is almost impossible to tell who has what. A small icon over everyone's head that indicated what class of weapon(s) they have would be great.
The game will be on steam vs game spy. That's huge, there will be better optimization, graphics are better as well better shading. The game will contain additional game modes and units as well each season will carry camo for it. I also love the price of the game and developers said they will release patch and free dlc or updates, the devs are very passionate about there game and produce speedy responses to any question presented. As far as bing able to find ur smg squads the game has a lot of controls there are ways to separate whole squads and re group them so all ur rifles are together and ur smgs ect |
I'm not taking away from coh, I love this game. As a mow and men of war assault squad fan I have to say the second edition is an amazing game I love all the changes and the fact it's now ran threw steam and not game spy, this is a must have title imo |
Oh and let's not start charging for that too I think you guys have pushed it far enough with price gouging dlc already |
I'm my experience since this last patch 3 unites moving at an mg all 3 hit the ground shortly getting suppressed after. And as far as 2 or 3 models being lost crossing negative cover that might not happen how ever I see a model and a lot of hp lost, meaning if you have a gren in cover and 1 con moving in to there position the con losses one model and won't sustain the position they just moved to with the huge health loss to get there |
RnG is not going anywhere it's been with us all since coh and still there, all the complaints about 1cp units can be countered by many things from t1 and t2 snipers are great set up a mg and mortars or mg and pgrens to flank flame thrower half track, so much crying yet so many options to counter, clearly you don't understand the mechanics of the game comparing troop armor and tank armor. More and more of these post feel like where trying to change the game cause we don't like a particular unit or not good at countering it. He'll you can even counter the so early is2 with a few stugs. Less complaint how broken the game is and more understanding of what ur missing and how to get better. Sure does the armor come out a bit soon, is definitely debatable a lot of the call ins being made around 15 to 18 minutes but at that point there are plenty of countered available, it's really a matter of what kinda game or feel we want for the game that is desired |
Build order as fallows - 1 cons, eng builds t2, 2x maxums now depending on engagements if combat is light I build mortar and immediately build shock troops, or shocks befor mortar if ur taking a lot of pressure from grens or assault grens. At this point you should have ur natural points taken ie fuel and munitions, next up is ur at gun, now don't get caught sleeping this build order allows you to have the AT gun out as soon as the fth hits the field. Also befor I forget ur eng sole job after t2 build is harries and mine and wire off. After you first At gun what you buy next is up too you, I like to float till kv1 and either get 2 kv1s or buy 1 kv1 and 203 howitzer, after that I tech t4 for katusha |

PTRS has a chance of one-shotting a model (not a high chance, its about 5%?) and also makes the squad jump around if they miss (they toned this down a bit, it used to make them jump for days on end).
@JHeartless: Why do you feel that the Guards munitions are a problem? Considering those abilities, when spammed, allow the squad to take on pretty much the entire German arsenal of T1 and T2 (minus an MG42 with a spotter) is pretty amazing.
Let's just compare the unit to the Panzergrenadier:
-same MP cost
-same armor and hp per soldier
-6 Guards vs 4 Pgrens
-lower reinforce cost per soldier
-same nade with same cost
-default guard AI much weaker than default Pgren but has AT
-upgraded guard (60muni) AI weaker than default Pgren but has AT and CC for vehicles
-default guard AT weaker than upgraded Pgrens (120muni) and has slightly weaker AI
-upgraded guard (60muni) AT weaker than upgraded Pgrens (120muni) but has slightly better AI
Considering how you can't unequip your shreks after you buy them, I don't see how the German equivalent is light years ahead of Guards, especially considering Germans have to spend more ammo to even have AT on the squad and also more ammo spending overall as a faction (ie, losing out on opportunity cost - medic station even costs ammo).
Note that pretty much all the Guard doctrines have Mark Target - any more damage from their PTRS's can result in some serious bullshit.
