actually it is a bad choice. 750 is way over the top. 500 or 550 with heavy OC is more than enough
well, it depends on the type of the forum. There are some friggin good PC Forums out there
Actually, win 8 and 10 are only slightly faster than 7. Additionally, 10 is really unstable, I know several people who have problems with it. Additionally, win 7 had the best user interface.
About the antivirus: you clearly have no clue what you are talking about. Even on sites you trust infected ads might give you a virus. And come on, be honest, sometimes you are on websites you don't trust. Even if you have adblock, noscripy, ghostery, cookies disabled, brain.exe enabled, you might get a virus. Yes, virus scanners are limited, but still, you need one.
you never streamed and talk like you know what hardware is good. i have all hardware /software tested. from windows 7, 8.1 and 10. windows 8.1 is totally right know the best gaming / streaming operating system. windows 10 is on a good way to get much better. i have a 2 PC setup. with different kind of hardware in it. i do a lot of tests. with a lot of different capturecards and CPU from the i7 2600k, i7 4700k till the i7 5960X. What experience did you have. I didnt use any antivir software since 5 years. only the operating system one. but even there not every. do you know what antivir programs could do while you try to stream. probably not. And sometimes you are on website you dont trust. is totally wrong. If you arent a kid. you arent on those sites.
You don't need a second streaming PC, because you don't really need 60fps streaming. For one thing probably half the people watching won't be able to buffer 1080p 60fps because of internet speed. More importantly most streamers that have streaming PCs for streaming 60fps fit one of two categories. Either they are very successful full-time Twitch/youtube guys (goldglove, summit1g, jackfrags, etc.) that have 50k followers. Or they do it as a hobby and have more than enough $$ coming from their real job to buy whatever hardware they want without thinking twice about it. I remember Fahu on stream said he does something in the veterinary field, so him going all out on PC gear is not the same as someone early 20s in college doing the same. 60fps only enhances viewing for the people that would watch you anyway at 30fps, its not something that will make a measurable impact on your twitch bottom line if you were thinking of it as a business investment.
James is a fulltime streamer and he still streams now in 1080p60fps without reach ingame constant 60fps. But because everyone could change quality, because of partnership noone cares about this issue
So what do you guys think of these specs? Thinking I'll just buy the gtx 1080 separate.
I wouldnt go windows 7 anymore. Windows 8.1 and even windows 10 works a lot more stable. Need less resources and runs much smoother. Antivir programms like i can say are too totally useless. Cost a lot more resources makes problems and you dont need them really if you dont click on every link and site you dont even know. The cpu discuss is still talked before. The i7 6700k is not a real upgrade. And using your i7 4790 pc as a streaming pc let your cpu usage almost or even go to the max of 100% in 1080p60fps and veryfast cpu preset. I still switched from my i7 4790k oc 4,4 to the i7 5960x. Because i was at max cpu usage in 1080p60fps with webcam + capturecard and no video background and that in obs which needs less cpu usage than xsplit still. So you will be maybe get trouble. Just to let you know
Hansi if your not gonna over clock CPU then dont invest into to CPU liquid coolers .. there a lot of other aftermarket air coolers that do just fine .. If you can save the cost of cooler and and put that money somewhere else like more RAM or better Cabinet .. Corsair Carbide AIR 540 is good.
You should get a Elgato HD60PRO game capture card for capture/streaming its pretty good and increases your CPU longevity.
liquid vs aircooler pros cons video
If he is still using obs for streaming. That is not true. Capturecards use in software like obs / xsplit a lot more cpu power. Because the encoding pic from the capturecard get again encoded in obs/xsplit. So at least even if he streaming in 1080p60fps his cpu load is almost 80-100% with webcam. I tested it.
Well, mdoern games mostly do support 4k, there's just no single GPU on the market that can drive it. Around 1440p (UW included) is max atm, otherwise you either won't reach the common 60+ FPS, or you gonna have to tune down a lot of settings.
- Ram may limit some games. Price difference is neglectable for faster modules
- some Kingston V300s use different nand that causes them to be way slower (they did some fancy switcherino)
- the CPU cooler is... (excuse my language) utter crap
- PSU could be better, quality wise.
- it's overpriced
Just a quick draft for direction, haven't checked any compatibility, and there's room for improvement of course.
the i7 6700k is not an upgrade. its almost the same CPU he has still in his moment PC. and if he will not OC it a lot, he will not see any different. And streaming in 4k is totally not working without second PC or FPS loses/special stream/game settings
Secondly, considering the price difference between those is less than £5 now it makes no sense to buy old technology. When Skylake first launched, it was far more expensive than DC and at some points made sense to buy it but not anymore.
Thirdly, Skylake uses a newer chipset offering newer technology's than DC does. No point in not getting the most for your money when there is barely any price difference.
Fourthly, 5930k is generally a horrible choice from a price to performance ratio, since it is quite a bit more money (£150~) for .1GHz extra (ignoring the extra PCI-e lanes, only needed if you are running more than 2 GPU's or lots of PCI-E based storage).
you now that james has still a i7 4790k or. you know that it doesnt help him to reach better quality with more fps in game, if he streams. if he bought almost the same CPU or. even for streaming the i7 5820k is recommended and doing a very well job. And i test i7 4790k against i7 6700k. and for streaming no different.
The i7 6700k is not better than the i7 4790k totally wrong from all the people here. the different is almost only that the i7 6700k has a much better graphicscard. if you buy a new CPU go for any 6 or 8 core. that are currently the i7 5820k or 5930k. the only 8 core which is available right now from intel is the 5960X which is totally too expensive for you i believe.
Willy Pete: @Rosbone Ahh I missed that memo. I still think its a bad decision though. Adds frustration for players and isnt gonna make them that much money Last Thursday, 15:46 PM
Rosbone: It is also good they left it free until after the free to play weekend. Points for that. Last Thursday, 09:34 AM
Rosbone: But I agree, the cost to get a full decent Coh game pushing $115 US is not the best idea. Especially when it needs so much more work for casuals. Last Thursday, 09:32 AM
Rosbone: To be fair, it was a thank you to early fans right? They said it was not free for long and it would become a pay DLC at some point. Last Thursday, 09:30 AM
Willy Pete: Re-releasing free DLC so they can charge new players money for it. Brilliant marketing strategy Last Thursday, 04:31 AM
Soheil: Coh2 still broken server ? 25 Mar 2025, 18:27 PM
Rosbone: Congrats to Relic. Looks like Coh3 has finally usurped Coh2 s the popular Coh. You smell terrific. . 24 Mar 2025, 02:46 AM
Nickbn: and again someone else replies. I mean come on guys. Give @adamírcz a chance 22 Mar 2025, 14:00 PM
Willy Pete: @Nickbn you didn't ask a question, and this is a chat box... 20 Mar 2025, 13:11 PM
Nickbn: @Rosbone it's incredibly rude to speak on someone elses behalf, especially when a question is directly adressed to them. I understand your passion for the subject at hand but I want to hear from him. 20 Mar 2025, 10:16 AM
Rosbone: @Nickbn No, I am just saying people should not be using any Relic owned forum since they have proven they ban anyone who says true things about Coh3. 18 Mar 2025, 19:01 PM
Nickbn: @Rosbone do you speak on his behalf? I didn't know. In that case keep us updated please. 18 Mar 2025, 16:47 PM
Rosbone: #RelicModdedEchoChamber 16 Mar 2025, 17:54 PM
Rosbone: @Nickbn True except, the only people on the Relic Discord/Reddit/Steam are brain washed monkey zealots. They wont even understand what @adamírcz is talking about. Anyone else is banned. 16 Mar 2025, 17:54 PM
Nickbn: @adamírcz might be a better idea to voice this to relic directly than to voice it here, in a shoutbox of a nearly deade fansite #justsaying... 16 Mar 2025, 16:36 PM
aerafield: @adamírcz aren't the first two disconnects free every day? 14 Mar 2025, 19:26 PM
Rosbone: It is so unlike Relic to punish its fans and community. 14 Mar 2025, 12:07 PM
adamírcz: So, I just got a leaver penalty without even getting onto the loading screen because of the game disconnecting, bravo Relic 14 Mar 2025, 10:45 AM
Rosbone: It is an indicator of the very short sighted capitalist view that plagues any company where leadership does not understand the product. 13 Mar 2025, 20:00 PM
