Thread: DLC pricing. #Milking (Ranting and Suggestions)13 Nov 2013, 19:03 PM I wrote this in another thread: I may have been caught by the negative winds, but does anyone else feel like they dont plan on building COH2 to be a lasting success, like vCOH? I kind of get the feeling that they dont care much about the uproar in the community, and just shells out DLCs to earn money while there is still some life left in the game. In: Lobby

Thread: New Commanders!13 Nov 2013, 01:01 AM Extremely frustrating to have my allie ruin the entire game by calling in a Tiger ace, when the enemy have 300 VPs left, and we have no chance at destroying theire base. Thread: How I feel about paid commanders.12 Nov 2013, 19:04 PM I dont think the addons are p2w themselves, and I dont have any special principle against DLCs in general. What annoys me is when a game is released in a 'beta-like' state, costs about 60$ and the company starts shelling out DLCs before the other basic features and problems have been fixed. It says something about theire priorities. I find the argument that they need DLCs to release basic features, like chat, a bold one. That should have been in the game to begin with, if you ask me. Fix your game and let it settle for a bit, and when the game finally is good Id be happy to give you my money. In: Lobby

I really hope they never do that. MG42 should be a beast confronted head on, and weak when outflanked. I would rather see the Maxim turned into a HMG, in stead of an assaultunit. I think the problem is that the "new" Relic didnt care much for the vCOH infantryplay, but had to keep some of the elements in order to please the fans. Thus we noe have small extremely weak small arms damage, making cower, flanking and positioning less important. This is verry aparent when you look at the way they have handled the MG through development and balancing, initially making it extremely resiliant, and later simply less relevant. I dont think this team is comfortable with the MG and certain about what it should be. To me, it looks like its been designed by a team more comfortable with Pazer elite and Brits. In: COH2 Balance

But what items like the Commanders allow us to do is offer a greater level of support to the base game than we'd have been able to in the past. Free content like new maps, the World Builder and features like Steam Chat lobbies are all built off of support from the DLC. The Turning Point Update is a huge free update to the game, and there's content in there that would not exist if it weren't for paid DLC. Im sorry if I sound ungratefull, but I find some of the free content a poor justification for the DLC direction of the game. Its great that you add new maps, a worldbuilder and a chat, but this is all features you would expect from a COH game to begin with. When you release a game stripped of some of the most basic multiplayeroptions, I really dont think reintroducing some of them justifies the DLCs. In: Lobby

For all those that say it's just early days yet; it's a fair point. However, although balance can be tweaked, design post-release is pretty much fixed, and that design is coming from the team behind OF and ToV. Just putting it out there, Q. Duffy was the lead designer for the Brit faction; no comment (and nothing meant against the man himself), because that's great if you loved the Brits, but isn't so hot if you weren't a fan. Interesting reading. I always fealt that COH2 was designed with a verry different mindset compared to vCOH. Do you know how much of the original vCOH team that is still left and where the rest went?
