-What about fixing the Grens vs Cons early game?
-What about giving Soviets a viable counter to LMG Grens?
-What about the ridiculous RNG that too often decides a game?
-What about the fact that Germans don't even need T4 in a 1v1?
-What about the KV8 Flamer?
-What about how crap the T34-85 are?
-What about the 120mm mortars range and insta gib potential?
-What about the Ostruppen spam into T2 flamer HT?
There are so many other things that need fixing with the game other then just redesigning the SU85. Yeah the SU85 might be a strong unit, but really Soviets need it to be. How else are they going to stop a Tiger or a Panther? If the SU85 is lowered in health any more then it will just be gg every time Germans get two or more P4's and 3-4 Grens with LMG.
In my opinion, CoH2 can not be fixed without a MAJOR re-design of the Soviet faction. The Soviet faction is just complete shit design, that Relic need to admit that they fucked up and start again by releasing a beta patch with MAJOR re-designs of the Soviet faction.
I am currently writing an essay on my opinion of the Soviet faction and its requirement of a redesign.
Don't forget that the german tanks also have "superblitz" and smoke to avoid being destroyed. But I agree that the russian design has it's problems. |
It is op - I not saying its invincible, im saying its over powered. Im not in some rage over a game that I lost.
The honest truth is that for the price, and in the role its in it has too many things going for it, and there is no special skill in using it. Just reverse and make sure you are not caught out without cons, that's it.
It vets up even without getting a single tank kill and becomes more and more impossible to beat. Its not fun its not clever and its not good game design, if you can name a unit similar in vcoh I am more than happy to hear about it.
Go on mate, tell me your opinion of the game? The honest truth is everything I said is correct and all you can do is make attacks without adding substance.
vCoh was a godly game an coh2 is not even a 50% of what vcoh was, and its not because its not "revolutionary" or not ahead of its time, its because it takes what made vcoh great and ruins most of it.
It has some great features but the game mechanics, engine and design behind it is heavily flawed.
Lol....you forgot to mention the mighty Elephant, the most unballanced crap tbh. Btw the Su-85s are the only cost-effective counter to german tanks, other tactics are just combinde-arms. |
soviet skillset. flanking nading, capping, artylering, mg positioning, teching choises, tank micro.
german skillset. wich units to build, wich upgrades to take, a+clicking.
I have a feeling that you pretty much nailed it..... |
LOL...at least they have something solid to RAPE THE OP LMG VET GRENS!!!! |
Would like to see some scandinavian representatives... like Chains or Tommy or.... that guy from Denmark.... you know of whom I speak.
Yeah, I'd like to see ImperialDane in this tourney. |
absolutely not
There are some good counter tactics and this thing is lame as hell.
Lame as hell? It rapes every soviet vehicle if someone has enough micro to keep the distance, and on some maps it is almost impossible to flank it.
"There are some good counter tactics". Yes there are. Soviet artillery (Jaeger Armor doctrine has the counter to destroy it ASAP) and airstrikes with marked target vehicle is awesome but they are doctrinal. I guess you also think about infantry, At-guns or just ram it with a T-34, they work in theory but a good player supports his/her Elephant.
Also with spotting scopes it's ridiculous how far it can see. |

Where is your artillery? Why aren't you using against stationary Ost during your advance? You should have a mortar or zis by this point, or else your snipers/penals can face up LMG infantry.
The PTRS is very effective against light vehicles, the DP with its button ability buys crucial seconds for your heavy AT (zis/su85) to close the deal against medium/heavy tanks. I don't particularly see a problem with this.
By contrast, PG shreks are high damage, expensive weapons on a fragile 4-man unit. Their AI effectiveness is severely hampered by the upgrade. They create no-go zones for light vehicles, much in the same way that guards do, but they are vulnerable against medium and heavy tanks.
In light of this, the T34/85 seems best suited, with its delicate aim, to supporting the SU85 by picking off infantry at range during late-game battles, while still possessing the resilience to close with and stall the panther when you need to seal the deal. Expensive, yes; Albeit less-so than the panther. And battles at that stage can easily mean win or defeat.
Nice thing about the T34/85 ability as it exists right now is that the Sov do not need T3. They work beautifully in conjunction with T4, rounding it out neatly. They possess a great deal of shock value - enough to wipe a squad or two when they first hit the field. I don't think they should be the first or the only tank a soviet force dispatches.
Good ideas, but good luck getting enough fuel and manpower to make it work without sacrificing map control and having many boots on the field.
Button vehicle is good but Ostheer's smoke ruins it.
Agree with the T-34-85s+T4 combo, but yeah again the cost of teching is too much and we can only dispatch Is-2s from Armored Assault with T-34-85s.

Why don't we get Ba-64 instead of the M3A1, it was also a lend-lease vehicle. |
IMO penals, conscripts should have some sort of upgrades to make them usefull in late games, this also applies to the pioneers. Maybe they should get 4 rifles after an upgrade. |
This unit need some sort of changes, either in stats or price because it doesn't have a non-doctrinal hard counter that doesn't require your whole army. |
