Budwise I haven't seen you play a single game of beta with us/the devs. I haven't seen you come to the beta chat a single time, and I haven't seen you make a single post in the beta forums.
I don't really know what more you expect Relic to do... they're already playing with us frequently and engaging in conversations on a nearly daily basis...

I think for me what it boils down to (and I probably should take my own advice here with regard to my initial post in this thread which probably should have been toned down a bit) is the way in which Ami said it and the way in which he approached everything. There's always a right and a wrong way to say something or do something. Ami is absolutely entitled to his own opinion, as we all are, and no one can blame him for not finding the game interesting - that's fine. Just seems like it would have been much more professional and shown a lot more character if he had just said something like "Honestly I was hoping for more from CoH2 but given the state that it is in I'd rather not do a future SNF." Saying just drastically negative things about Relic, about CoH2, about other casters (and in a more subtle manner about the community that legitimately enjoys coh2) just wasn't called for and was frankly tasteless. Just no reason to act that way, especially as a grown man who claims to love the series/community. @ntd - I'd like to echo Stoffa's sentiments and say that I wish more were like you. I can completely respect anyone's decision to not like that game, not everyone is going to like it, but there are a handful of people that spend plenty of time on the forums undermining and shitting on CoH2 - many of us have told them multiple times that it just gets old. Would be nice if more people followed the example of you/Sepha/Twister/etc - they tried the game, they didn't like it, they moved on and don't waste anyone's time crying about it. @Basoline - The posts between us are very off-topic for the subject matter of this thread, I'd be more than happy to continue our discussion via steam (ciez23) or you can PM me on here but we should both do our part in helping the thread stay on topic. @pez - Not sure why you think I'm full of shit, I've provided Relic with tons of feedback in a variety of different ways and I've tried to help multiple members of the community. Maybe I'm wrong but I feel like a good portion of people tend to respect me and my, generally spot-on insight, but... I guess you're entitled to your own opinion as well. In: Fan Clubs |
Thread: Stellar game (From cohbros)9 Feb 2014, 07:11 AM
Yeah GG WP was a fun game. We were trying out some new stuff and turns out it doesn't work. Would love another match against you guys in the future though, if you ever want to set it up just add me on steam CieZ23. Look forward to seeing more cohbros in automatch > |

I know it is my second post in this thread but I'd like the echo the desire for a 2v2 tournament. I think it'd be freaking sweet. I'd sure as hell sign up and I know a lot of others that would too. In: Lobby |
Thread: AmiPolizeiFunk9 Feb 2014, 05:32 AM
You mean the same period of time where flamer M3s were instant win? Or when Soviet snipers fired fast as hell? Or when SU85s could drive backwards faster with focused sight than they can drive backwards without it now? Let alone the other multitude of nerfs that SU85s have received. Also we can't forget PPShs being absurdly broken (well more like bugged but you get the point). And HtD stacked with green cover, and ram would 100% penetrate any tank, and T70s could smush infantry... I mean the list just goes on. Really must have taken absurd amounts of skill to win as Soviet during that time. *rolls eyes* If CoH2 doesn't take much skill and is so full of RNG then why do all the top ladder players have very impressive win/loss ratios as well as consistently perform in tournaments? The game takes plenty of skill... edit: This is getting very off-topic though, we should get back to the thread at hand. In: Fan Clubs |

I got the numbers from a pretty reliable source, I still don't see why he would need $5,000 to do something that he claims to be doing for the benefit of the community and game that he loves. Sure it takes a ton of time but it isn't like he's traveling around the world/staying in hotels/eating out etc etc like casters for major games do during big tournaments. Aside from his time and a little bit of electricity what other expenses are there? Why does it offend you so much that "average" vCoH players are succeeding in CoH2? That in no way means that CoH2 takes more skill or that vCoH has a high skill ceiling blah blah whatever. It just means that the games are different (newsflash! they are!) and that a different skill set is required. Same thing happened with SC2. Some of the BW pros were bad at SC2, some weren't. That's just life. Trying to say that CoH2 takes no skill because people that were good at a different game aren't good at it is a huge failure of logic. Oh, I don't see you tearing up the tournies in CoH2, or the ladder, or anything for that matter. 5 people running a website isn't a monarchy xD, 5 people running anything isn't a monarchy, I don't even know why I'm taking the bad troll bait on this one... fail sentence is fail. Other people have given the game a chance, didn't like it and moved on. That's fine. Not everyone is going to enjoy the game, not everyone enjoys any game or anything but at least they have enough maturity to have moved on with their lives. And at least Inverse has the ability to coherently express his opinions on what he doesn't like. Sure people outside of Reborn don't like the game, but it is mainly the Reborn people I see on a daily basis talking about how bad CoH2 is/how it takes no skill etc etc and yet none of them are good (or simply don't play) at CoH2 =/ but still pretend to know something. Really it just makes Ami look like an ungrateful little shit. I really don't understand how anyone can defend the things he said. Relic/Sega were extremely generous in giving him tons of cash and other DLC prizes. Quinn/PQ took time out of their personal lives to attend his casts, etc etc. Like what kind of person asks a company for so much money ($10,000 of which he wanted $5,000 for himself) and then turns around and calls them shitty in such a public manner. That's just biting the hand that feeds you. Sure CoH2 isn't perfect, but guess what - it is a damn good game. Regardless of what people delude themselves, it does require a high amount of skill and there are plenty of viable strategies. Neither Relic/Sega nor CoH2 deserve this kind of bullshit from some one who claims to like the series/community. Just make up your mind Ami, either say you hate the game and move on with your life or get with us an try to grow the community. I assure you, if you choose to move on, you won't be missed. Hopefully this just lets Relic move on to support the rest of us that legitimately care about this game. Edit: As plenty of other people have said, the whole Reborn circle-jerk of hating on CoH2 gets really old really fast. Why not just make your own private forums where you can cry all day and spare the rest of us your bullshit. In: Fan Clubs |
Thread: Why don't you take part in tournaments?8 Feb 2014, 03:14 AM
I haven't been able to participate in as many tournaments as I've wanted, generally the issue is simply time/timing. 1 - It is very hard to dedicate an entire day (even a Saturday) to playing 3-5 rounds, each a best of 3. I really like what this Reddit tournament is doing with giving players a 1 week window to schedule/complete their Bo3s. 2 - The CoH2 playerbase is very spread out in terms of time zones. It is literally impossible for me to participate in ESL because of being so far behind their home time-zones. If Relic wants to run tournaments or get more involved I'd suggest the following: A) Give people a deadline approximately 1 week in advance for completing their games, or only run 1-2 rounds per weekend. It really is fine if tournaments take more than a single day to complete. I, as a player, actually prefer this because it gives me more time to prepare for my opponent and I think at the upper levels this ultimately leads to closer, more intense and more entertaining games. B) Make every round a best of 3 & fix map spawn imbalances. For a quick example - I think SNF (and this Reddit) tournament would be a bit better if Soviets were given the south spawn on Langres and the west spawn on Kholodny - it is simply too easy to camp the cutoffs on the north/east of these maps, respectively. This would be quite simple, just reach out to a few top players/frequent tournament players and take a quick poll as to which spawn each faction should get. C) More advertising/exposure. I don't necessarily mean that the game itself needs more exposure but each tournament does. Heck I've come into contact with players that didn't even know what SNF was, and that probably had the most exposure of any tournament so far. This might not be a perfect idea but off the top of my head it'd be pretty great to have a CM responsible for finding/posting links to tournaments on the official CoH2 site. I think this would also increase the desirability of checking the official site for competitive players because, quite frankly, the official forums are overrun with casual players. (I'm not saying that anything is wrong with casual players just that their interests are different from a competitive player, so the things they discuss is different) D) Finally, and I know this is probably a very distant feature, but an observer mode would simply be amazing for players and casters. I'm sure having to constantly sync up/load replays/fiddle with overlays is not only frustrating but time consuming. And at times it has interfered with the quality of the broadcast. Being able to jump right into a game (Even if it is ~5 minutes delayed a la DoTA2 observer style) would be so freaking sweet. In: Lobby |
Thread: What maps do you veto as Ostheer?7 Feb 2014, 19:52 PM
For 2v2 I always veto Don River plus all the 6 player maps. Rzhev is decent sometimes, but always feels too big for a 2vs2 and Oka River is just bleh. For 1v1 I veto Don River (probably the worst map in the game) plus Kharkov (hate that map for 1v1) and Minsk Pocket. |
Thread: sniper / guards rifle7 Feb 2014, 18:19 PM
My only problem with this strat is the timing for which the guards come out, normally you could counter this with a sc or fht, but since guards come out so quickly now at 1 CP it's a pain to counter someone who does this strategy, especially on a map like minsk where they just spam guards, snipers, and mines. Hansi was able to beat Raz doing it MVGame It is very annoying, I'll agree with you there. But I've beaten Raz doing the strat with my Gren Gren Sniper start, with my mortar HT build and while mimicking Hans' Ostruppen strategy. Regardless, guards should be 2 CP. In: COH2 Balance |
