The game doesn't take place in a vacuum and it's not always likely a pershing will be able to flank uncontested. And even in a vacuum a tiger that's backing up and turning can keep up with a pershing, it's not slow, but it ain't a panther.
Pershing usually needs to take advantage of the tiger getting snared or being distracted to really flank it. Tiger wins head-on in any 1-on-1 engagement between good players.
I agree. This statement was in response to someone saying tigers roll over all allied tanks which, without support, I disagree with. |
So what?
Multiple times I have used a puma or two to take out ISU-152 and IS-2's. Used M10s to take out JT's, KT's and elephants.
Anything caught out of position is fair game and cheaper doesn't mean it shouldn't win. The Tiger has Blitz and smoke to compensate for lower speed if you don't throw it away.
Im saying that ONE of any allied faction can 1v1 a tiger. Not "one or two" or multiple mediums, im saying ONE. I understand that TDs are the hard counter to heavies but the tiger just doesn't bounce shots and is too slow to actually get in range of hitting the enemy tanks with its powerful gun.
Also, blitz costs munitions and smoke is doctrinal and only 1 commander has tiger and smoke. |
A unit needs weaknesses. Speed is the Tiger's.
Its far to easily countered by a lot cheaper units despite them being TDs. |
the tiger will win against the pershing. The tiger's 200 extra hp give it the edge.
and both the FF and Jackson are specifically designed to hunt the tiger at range.
Pershing can flank the tiger very easily and get away if need be. Tiger can't run and can't flank. Too slow. |
There is only a single allied tank in game which tiger doesn't steamroll and that is IS-2.
And pershing, and FF and Jackson all which cost less than it. Tiger can't hunt cuz hes too slow. Just soaks up damage then crawls back for age long repairs. |
Not only commanders, but tech choices.
Soviets have to choose between T1/2, OKW get AT (2)/snare/MG/anti garrison all BASLINE, NO CHOOSING REQUIRED.
On top of having extra perks like FRP, out of base healing, starting the game with a combat squad, 5 veterancy, amazing repair speed, and mainline infantry upgrades...
Oh, and the best stable of tanks.
They get everything you could possibly need without having any shortcomings.
No caches |
Soviets received their cookies too, if we are to mention penals and T34s. Default mortar for USF opens new strategies, changes for M36 and for scott are also rising the faction.
Related to OKW, all of these changes are due to the shreck removal from volks. Will OKW be a stronger faction now? YES. But also soviets will be a stronger faction.
The only "forgotten" faction is OH even if it will tech faster. They are a resources eater while having almost the weakest core infantry now.
I foresee for 1v1s an even weaker OH than until now, given other factions' buffs. From 2v2s ahead I don't really know but overall there will be simply no reason to chose OH over OKW.
Was gonna say sniper but then I remembered they nerfed all snipers |
What about making it garrisonable by the T2 mortar. Both of those units are sh@ite but together maybe...
15 fuel mortar halftrack? No thanks. |
Vet 3 PG with shreks deal the same (or even more) damage than a vet 0 PG squad with no AT, and since you can realiably snipe infantry with shreks, they are sometimes even deadlier than normal PG's against infantry.
The balance mod is dealing with the issue of handheld AT sniping models |
I don't know what you have been smoking, but I want to be that delusional too.
Werh indirect fire is the most accurate in this game, laser accurate sometimes.
Also, the soviet mortar is bugged right now, so it is pretty much useless (it was never good to start with).
Soviet mortar is most accurate mortar, ostheer one has highest ROF. |
