Just look at the Shock Troop curve, at low range (where they beat Sturms) the curve is close to 0. At longer range it is closer to 1. Works for me. In any event, the lines aren't that far apart--reinforces my idea that BARs are blech this patch--but then again, so is trying to fend off 3x dual Kubel starts in 3v3s/4v4s. In: COH2 Balance

The vCoH .30cal was a DPS monster but was only meh for suppression--hence you supported them with BAR'd riflemen for extra lols. Accepting that the Soviets won't be getting an equivalent any time soon, why not turn the Maxim into this? I mean, hell, I already play the Soviets like the Americans as it is (Penal wall with Cons for merging, backed up by a ZiS wall). Just complete the circle, Relic. Just do it. In: COH2 Balance

Your units still target individual models, but only those at windows will be damaged by small arms fire (I'm not sure what the deal is with the non visible models but I'm sure they're all clumped up in the center of the building--but not visibly rendered there, hence why grenades are devastating against small buildings and meh against larger ones). There is, in fact, a setting within each weapon (target_building_combat_slot; set to true or false) that will enable this specific targeting; you can turn it off for say, a tank, and that's why they'll randomly swivel around and shoot at random points on very large buildings. TBH, I'd rather have the ZiS-3 / ZiS-2; yes, the 37-K was a decent ATG, but the Obr 42 was leaps and bounds better (sadly, its garbage in game because reasons). Honestly, I think I'd be fine if Guards just got a single PTRS--no other changes. Would they really be that much worse off, since the PTRS is inherently crap? In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Overhaul of vcoh2 vet abilities14 Sep 2014, 06:18 AM SU-76M - Site Main Gun: Locks down the unit (immobile, but can rotate in place); boosts le sight range, boosts le damage, reduces le reload time, boosts le penetration (not by ridiculous amounts, mind you), like, oh, IDK, the Marder--aka, the SU-76M when it was actually useful Also consider Rapid Fire (a-la the Geschutzwagen) or adding a pintle mounted DT LMG (similar to the MG42 on the Geschutz)--I don't know if the SU-76M was equipped with some way to mount a pintle MG, but it couldn't hurt. Some sort of suppressive fire ability to the T-34/76 that increases the burst duration/accuracy/burst duration+accuracy of its hull and co-axial DT machineguns, but increases the reload time of the main gun (nothing huge, maybe a 10% penalty for the main gun)? Something to make it as effective in the AI department as the Pz IV/Sherman. In: COH2 Balance

Thread: Are you taking a break from the CoH2 title?12 Sep 2014, 17:09 PM Voted Yes-Bored; not only because of the stale meta and blech balance, but because its a buggy, poorly optimized game that eats my PC alive and craps out bugsplats every couple games. I have a vCoH mod I'd rather work on and other games that are frankly much more fun. CoH2 has become 'abuse or lose'; this is the same reason I hated CoHO. Until CoH2 re-enables modding, from here on out, I can't see myself playing it for the foreseeable future--I just have no interest in playing an e-sport-afied game. In: COH2 Gameplay
