No.
Fuel = Teching and Building Units
Munitions = Unit abilities, upgrades and doctrinal abilities. |
I think it's a fantastic idea. I think the USF Armor commander is a perfect example of how call-ins should be used. The M10 is a great stop-gap solution until you can tech up to reach the Jacksons. It's also a great support unit in the later game. I like the Ost Puma commander for this too.
However how can we go about fixing it without a complete redesign of all the commanders in the game? The only thing I can think of is that when the commander has a special unit that is a superior version of a regular unit, the special unit replaces the regular unit in the tech building, and the regular unit is pushed into call-in status.
For example, a commander with the T-34/85 would have the 85 available as a buildable unit in the T3 building, and the 76 would be a call-in at 7cp. But for commanders without the T-34/85, the 76 remains in the T3 building. Another example, a commander with the ISU would have the ISU sitting in the T4 building as a buildable unit, and the SU85 as a call-in at 7-8cp. |
Fucking QQ Soviets: MG OP!!!!!

Am I the only one who prefers the T-34 over the Su85?
I always go T-70 -> T-34/76 -> T-34/85
Two T-34/76's can handle a P4 pretty well. The combination of T-70's and T-34 rapes infantry.
Also, I find that if you go for a really quick T-70, you force the german player into getting Paks or shecks, which are stealable, which lets you handle P4's a bit easier.
I never use the Su85. I find it's way too specialized, and it serves only one role, and is completely hopeless at everything else. Sometimes I'll get it, but it's usually only if the game really goes the distance, and I start encountering panthers. |
Ostwind should be able to beat the T70 easily
The T-34 should be able to beat the Ostwind easily |
There's always the german mortar halftrack |
The command delay is huge, especially in the early game when trying to dodge molotovs. It really gives a big advantage to the soviets. |
I liken the Leader board situation to this scenario:
I went down to the local store and ordered and paid for a Supreme Pizza. When I got it home and opened the box, it nothing on it except for Ham and Cheese.
So I ask the Pizza store Manager, what happened to the rest of my Pizza that I paid the full amount for and it was advertised to have the lot?
The Manager turns around and says, sorry pal, I pay the kid out the back to put all the toppings on but he just didn't do it, or forgot or didn't know how. The Manager further says, I can't tell you when I will put the extra advertised toppings on your Pizza, but I am working on it, just take a seat and wait for 6 hours whilst I try and get the toppings put on for you, but you are welcome to eat the pizza I already made for you.
Who would put up with that? Who would want some sort of rock solid concrete answer on what the fuck is going on or you would demand your money back or some sort of discount?
Who would ever shop at that Pizza shop again?
Not really... It's more like the delivery truck with the cheese never showed up. And the manager saying he's not happy with that delivery truck, so he's looking to maybe get a different one. Relic has very little control over Steam. |
