Thread: Weapon drops happen so much now?4 Sep 2015, 18:40 PM I swear the % drop of weapons increases on retreat. Especially with shreks. That or hitting retreat has a chance for panzergrens to just throw a shrek down as they flee. (I jest, but it does seem like its increased. It may just be all the Brens and Piats though.) In: Lobby
Thread: About the comeback of the mortar pit...4 Sep 2015, 18:37 PM People say that the 400mp is a lot. It costs what 120mm used to cost. Yeah it doesn't move, but the 120mm especially due to its range usually doesn't have to move except for arti, which british emplacements typically do not care about at all. Depending on map this effect is usually amplified. It seems special effort was made to eliminate the specific drawbacks to being an immobile with the British, by making their hard counters ineffectual. This is more frustrating to gameplay than it is diverse or dynamic imo. In: COH2 Gameplay

Thread: Stormtroopers less then Partisans4 Sep 2015, 02:56 AM Stormtroopers are supposed to decap a point in conjunction with the decap stuka and have Close the Pocket wipe the map of your opponent. They aren't meant to pop out amidst combat and decrew a few ATGs or mortars. Stormtroopers were designed specifically around the Encirclement commander. Utilizing them outside of scope of that commander (until they're in more commanders) is probably going to be ineffective. But they aren't so expensive to reinforce, which is nice. If anything access to an LMG42 as an alternative to the STGs would be equally enjoyable for the unit. Probably be too much though. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Brace needs a serious nerf.4 Sep 2015, 02:49 AM Emplacements in general force a player's hand into countering them in a predictable fashion, or avoiding them altogether. More often than not they are used to buy time until tech units can be fielded, and almost always require the opponent to tech specifically to counter the emplacement. Either way they promote non-engagement and a delay in gameplay, and they at best focus gameplay into a constrained region of the map. This, is dull. And frustrating. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: About the comeback of the mortar pit...4 Sep 2015, 02:02 AM 35mp reinforce is no joke. But the mortar pit, almost by default, is going to be a blight upon team games. Teammates can most certainly cushion and cover such an investment for incredible (and easy) payoffs. In: COH2 Gameplay
Thread: Brits power distribution during match duration.4 Sep 2015, 01:28 AM I'd prefer the strength of any faction in the early, mid, and late game be determined more by the outcomes of the matchup and player choices, not the faction's core design. That said you could say the brits are in a "good spot" but there are critical flaws in which they are heavily crippled (v ost snipers) as well as excessively cost efficient. (v OKW early on, churchills, etc) There's no right answer in determining how they're balanced overall currently. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: M5 Halftrack losing reinforce on upgrade3 Sep 2015, 01:34 AM Well, I will continue to never use the flamethrower upgrade for the HT, and I will now mostly cease to use the Quad. The issue with the Quad was it's shock value, not its staying power/ability to reinforce. Quite frankly the infantry mobbing around the Quads weren't so much a problem as axis having units get suppressed and pinned by a highly mobile unit that's mostly immune to small arms.
