I loved CoH1 and was really looking forward to CoH2 as my next competitive game. I did not buy CoH2 at release due to it not being worth the asking price at the time, but was hopeful it would improve in the coming months (I've been checking periodically to see what's been going on) so I could buy it for less at some Steam sale.
I can tell you now that with DLC working in this manner I will not even give this game a second thought. Even if the DLC doctrines are overall 'weaker' (hint: they won't be) than the given ones, simply having more options available already skews the balance. It's the DEFINITION of pay-to-win.
It both boggles my mind and saddens me that something so easy to do right was done wrong.
