when will it be implemented??
These changes have been incorporated into the mod which simulates the patch coming next tuesday. You can play the mod now. It is unclear if these changes will make it into the final patch because they are in essence being trialled via the mod |
Why would you increase number of models if each one of those models is a mp drain and also still can't do shit.
quantity has a quality all of its own? The models would have to become cheaper for this to be viable but each model would increase dps and charges would be more survivable to molotov / at nade stuff (weak as these abilities are)
However Your probably right. I think making ppsh's non doctrinal (with a buff) and changing the commander options to dp's might be a better solution. It would just be nice to make soviet infantry a bigger feature late game. A soviet Army light on infantry just feels wrong.

I'm sorry, but I don't think grens are performing in middle game neither. Their 4 models are wiped like hell and there's nothing you can do about it. You can't change cons and let grens as they are. I admit cons are weak, but they are cheap and have abilities like ourrah, which helps them flank, At nades, molotovs. They are an infatry unit designed to fill the battlefield and cause problems for opponents not as a powerfull strike force. People who want buffs for them just want to blob them and fuck around the map until heavy/mid vehicles are comming. Soviets may obtain good infantry combos if they mix in equal quantities conscripts with guards or add some shocks next to their cons. Not to mention the tank hunters doctrine where cons are anything but weak with the PTRS upgrade. In addition, with the incoming maxim buff, cons will get a nice support with these HMGs and their overall performance in game will be better while supported.
Finaly, I would want some AI buff for volks too, (don't know if you noted HOW WEAK are volks in startgame compared to cons, they simply cannot resist against them), but I don't know if this will be such a good idea.
Most people are not discussing early game. Its post tier 3 / battle phase 3 that cons become an irrelevance apart from merging into weapons teams and most suggestions seem to be about helping them at that point |
Perhaps con squad sizes could increase late game but remain the same price (with cheaper reinforcement per model) representing the increasing soviet mobilisation and giving the human wave vibe. Vet gained per killed con would have to be less to avoid runaway vet for axis as they were mown down.
Maybe +1 model for tier 3 and +2 models at tier 4. Might be to confusing for the game system though. |
I see Stuart and T70 play being game winning for the Allies now that mediums have been delayed. 80 fuel T34 is absurd. OKW medium is nice but maybe OP depending on tech costs.
Anyone else think that HMG42 from HQ is kinda broken?
Why is an 80 fuel t34 absurd? Its now in T4 behind an additional layer of teching. |
I have a bad feeling about this ... especially for soviet's. Su76 vs panzer IV ? Seriously ?
the su76 has great penetration and is a lot cheaper than the p4 - combined with anything else (zis / conscripts AT nade / 2nd SU76) it will easily win |
I think we will see a brit solo package if allied assault sold well enough |
Looks like it given were in year 3 and getting patches, a faction (single player sure to follow?) and revamping of older parts of the game |
I think the OP has a point and its a problem coh1 had too. When coh2 was launched they tried to tackle the difficulty curve problems by dumbing down gameplay (reducing so called 'hidden knowledge') reducing the impact of elements like cover and damage differentiation at ranges but that made the older fans mad (rightly) and so it was dialed back.
To an early player ost is easier to play because it has less micro tax. Wide angle mg's, generalist infantry and at in your main tech path (unable to choose soviet tier1 without at) followed by generalist tanks. Also being slow out the gate at the start of games (a symptom of inexperienced players) favours ost.
Not sure at this stage in the games life there's much to be done about this although potential upcoming changes to the old factions might help allied ease of play very slightly |
They should stick to cosmetic from start, not p2w (some commanders were so OP, it was gamebreaking). And alot of other AAA titles can manage with alot less money-grabbing moves.
Best example? Witcher 3, released by alot smaller published than Sega.
What about vCoh? Is CoH2 that much bigger game so it needs additional money? No, they just want to get out as much money as possible. I support new campaign, or factions for money, if u can balance it.
Still, lets say all that money is purely for "upgrading" the game, what a fine job they did.
Game is still full of bugs, unoptimized and unbalanced.
U can say that it's normal for them to get as much money as they can, but u cant say that we support them in that cause when the game is still beta material.
Don't forget unlike witcher 3 coh2 has servers it has to maintain for us to play the game 3 years after we bought it. Witcher 3 paid dlc will be along soon |
