Absolutely infuriating match. At least 2 (pretty sure 3) times I lost almost full squad on a mine, Shrek squad was one shotted by a IS2, and when my triple vet P4 killed an IS2 it got insta karma via out of control YOLO crit. Was a close game though, even had a triple vet HMG. |
Inb4 top 10 teams leave some games so they can be eligible. I agree with Sandreas, top 50 or 100 would be a better cut off point. The problem with excluding only the top 10 (even if people didn't abuse the system) is then the #11-30 people would be winning. The people in those positions aren't exactly underdogs, many of them are good enough to be top 10 but haven't played as many games. |

They are a great counter to T3 and T4 units, and a shitty counter to infantry and doctrinal tanks. So if you're playing vs someone spamming Pumas, just don't produce tanks from buildings. |

You are describing a scenario in which a Panzer IV, a medium tank, is frontally attacking a su85, a dedicated tank destroyer vulnerable to any direction except its front; and in which the Su85 has ample room to maneuver straight backwards. This is, literally, THE entire purpose of Su85. To take on medium and heavy armour head on from a safe-ish range.
Attacking cumbersome, turretless heavy tank destroyers frontally with medium armour should never result in anything except a smouldering pile of medium armour. I do not mean you, Basilone, but I've noticed there are still some players who think "flanking" an Su85 entails farming vet1, clicking the Blitzkrieg button and then moving up behind the SU through its arc of fire. This is precisely what was wrong with Blitz.
I would love to see proper tank flanking, but unfortunately this game doesn't facilitate it very well since infantry have a possible 1 hit, non interrupting, engine dmg ability. In case you haven't played CoH1 only one faction had engine damage AT, it could be kited pretty easily, it had a ~3 second timer even after it connected with the target, and it belonged to the faction with the generally inferior tanks. Don't forget button either (which was in coh1 also, but thats one of the reasons everyone hated OF). |
Anyone who thinks CoH2 is too campy clearly has not experienced the bridge maps from CoH1.

It's aimed for casual players yet it has an extraordinary competitive scene because it has no "micro" or "macro" (whatever the fuck that is supposed to mean) doesn't make the game irrelevant. I would say it's a very relevant game and a good example of a game that destroys the preconceptions people have on this board about what makes a game competitive or not.
Its irrelevant to this conversation because BFW was saying high level players don't know how to make a game enjoyable for the masses and specifically cited micro discrepancy as the reason, which does not exist in a card game. |
