If you get it vetted up (and it vets extremely fast with the 20mm shooting vehicles) you use it to harrass caches, kill SU76, kill Katyusha, kill halftracks, and at vet 3 you can use it to flank and hurt T70 + T34 while they are preoccupied shooting at something else. They definitely could use a buff against infantry, but to say they are useless after M3s is just false. |

Unless you unnecessarily spending muni at every opportunity on things like flares, flamers, zis barrage, etc. its very hard to not float as Soviets at least until you unlock off map abilities late in the game. |

This. I don't see much of a argument that these "hard counters" are ruining COH2 because they existed in COH1 also. I don't like the current state of M3 and T70 but it has nothing to do with being a "hard" counter. |
My main complaint is vehicle crushing rules. P4's and Ostwinds can't run over trees. They are supposed to be the ultimate killing machines yet they can't run over a little tree stump. lol
I heard there are issues with crushing certain types of trees. Like tree X winter version might crush by a tank, but the same tank can't run over the same tree on spring or summer version. Its being worked on now from what I know, and most trees should be crushable by medium tanks in the future. |
Actually I have found this to be an excellent tactic. You must think of it like this. If a soviet player wastes an AT grenade at an axis vehicle then those munitions will not be used on something else like a mine or help towards an off-map ability.
Except Soviets have so much munitions it doesn't really impact them. The only times I've ever come close to running out of munitions as Sovs is upgrading flamer at the start of the game, getting a early bridge demo on Pripyat, or spamming Sturmovik strafe late game. |
No way Steam can do that. That is abuse if they do that. Hell I would almost never buy a steam game if that is the case, always real versions.
CoH1 and CoH2 in my eyes is a game which is extremely difficult to determine if someone truly is maphacking, from replays anyway. I never maphack, but some of the stuff I do could most defintely come across as a maphack, when sometimes it can just be just luck. Surely they won't be doing this off a replay based system.
One situation comes to mind clearly in CoH1. I wanted to test how acccurate a StuH attack ground command was and I actually hit a cloaked sniper in a random spot. Looks like map hack, but its just silly luck. If someone were to review that though and ban me, voiding me of hundreds of dollars in games and I would be disgusted.
Don't worry the guys were very thorough and never game someones name to Relic unless they had multiple very suspicious games or one extremely obvious game like strafing cloaked stormtroops (yes people actually did that Kappa). |
I'm kinda on the fence about this. I really like manual mechanics like this because it adds another depth for the faster and better players to get an advantage over their opponent, but on the other hand it doesn't make much sense that they can't do it while retreating.. |
