I have a degree in German, German History and studied the Wehrmacht. My German friends speaks German as a native. We both say it has no direct connection with the SS. People who don't speak German see "Ober" and decide it's like "UEBER". It's not. If someone says "I think Obersoldaten is a stupid name" but that peson does not speak German, then that person is stupid. Would anyone agree with me there? In: COH2 Gameplay |

@Bulgakov "he was a bad player" means in this game he was bad. Not a general rule. But to make it clear I'll rephrase - he played badly late game, thaat's why he lost. Early game he dominated with Maxim spam - something I think he uses very often to get his high win % High win % generally means great player but doesn't always mean great player. It can mean they've found something cheesy and they're exploiting it. And can anyone reply to to this? "Going for Maxims means losing At grenades" "But you get AT gun in the same building." I don't think anyone can answer it but let me know. In: COH2 Balance |

Excellent point that he lost it!!! But not for the reason you think. He had absolute domination the whole game. He lost because he was a bad player But despite being bad he had domination the whole game. It's a micro-light, easy-to-use, powerful strat that creates BORING games. I can see no reason no to make changes to make this less viable. I don't understand why so many people write "just adapt". Would the players saying that say "just adapt to G43 spam" last patch? Would they accept that as an argument? No. And theyd be right. That was OP. I was against that staying. I'm against this staying too. (I'm also against a T1 troop carrier with 270 degrees of weapons when garrisoned that can kite like a bitch and bring the flames to all your retreating units and that negates the idea of flanking in a game whose main premise is "use strategy to outmaneuver instead of just running around shotting". But sigh... I'll l2p and adapt to that too) In: COH2 Balance |

You say no AT nades means no protection against light vehicles. Ostheer has no light vehicles until t2. By this time there will be a considerable resource imbalance, mines everywhere and AT guns behind the MGs. The light vehicle "hard counter" is hard countered by the same tier as the Maxim. T2 hard counters its own hard counter. You can't argue that you're giving up AT abilities when you clearly get excellent AT abilities with th same tier. So the MG spammer is rewarded with both map control and fast access to the hard counter to his spam. Please explain if you think AT guns are inferior to AT nades in taking out light vehicles. And Maxims are just as vulnerable to indirect fire as any other unit. They can move quickly and are just relocated when the mortar rounds start going. The long mortar cooldown and mobility of the Maxim (along with the squad size) mean that it is NOT very vulnerable to indirect fire. (Most of all I just hate boring, static games. I lose to conspam too but I can enjoy those games because I'm not constantly running off the map.) In: COH2 Gameplay |

I agree that earlier patches were imba in favour of the Germans. It wasn't good I'm glad it changed. But you seem to see that as a reason that now the Germans should remain in their current state and refuse to consider the possibility that the soviets need some nerfs. Some German units need nerfs too. The main thing I can't agree with is when you talk about objective arguments. I've skimmed through all your posts and counted the following unobjective comments. "fanboy" - 12 "L2p" / "learn to play" x6 "whine/whining" - 9 You also tend to write like this: "Oha, German player needs to micro? Better nurf sovs!!! Dis unit must be OP if I can't run straight into it with ma terminatorz Pgren - Squad! Suddenly I have to use Combined Arms like da sovs, I wunt to roflstump evrything with mah well balanced Tanks!! Only sovs have to micro hard, otherwhise my 10$ 1337-keyboard would hurt mah fingaz!!" A lot of your posts make reading threads on CoH2 unpleasant. I can accept your Soviet bias, just as I accept I have a slight German bias that makes me less objective. But we can discuss these diagreements calmly instead of trolling. At least I hope we can. My first request is that you post a replay of you using Panzergrens to good effect, to back up yor argument that they are fine. At least 3 PGs (preferably against an opponent with several Maxims). If you do, I'll be glad to post a replay of me as Soviets spamming Maxims. What do you say? In: COH2 Balance |

I wouldn't want to see Grenspam/Conspam only. If removing capping led to it, it'd be bad. But is everyone sure it would? Do people really only build Maxim for capping? I think they build it for suppressing. And even it couldn't cap, it could still suppress. The only change would be that if players built more support weapons, they'd lose capping power. So they'd still build Maxims and Mg42s. They just wouldn't be able to spam them and that would make for more interesting games. In: COH2 Gameplay |

I agree that no unit should be strong at both AT and AI. But in the Beta there were other differences too. PGs were OP as I remember, so it's not possible to judge how a 1-shrek upgrade would work based on the Beta C. - COuld you show me a recent replay where Panzergrenadier blobbing happens and is a problem? Maxim spam done right is the most OP strat in 1v1 at the moment, but increasing reinforcement cost of the maxim is not the way to go. This would kill the maxims effectiveness in combined arms because it would just be a huge MP drain on yourself. What you would gain in map-control by adding a suppression unit will be instantly nullified by the need to send conscripts back to merge. I agree reducing capping speed would help a little. But still, after the Maxim forces a unit off the map, it has plenty of time to cap anyway. The point is they become immovable objects. So reducing capping time would just slightly delay the inevitable. Even if they never managed to cap past the midline, they would still stop the Germans from capping much whilst holding their own side. I think the threat of MP drain would reduce people's dependence on them. Then they'd hopefully get less and make the game more mobile. In: COH2 Balance |
