is it spending at least 4-8 hours a day perfecting micro?
is it finding the winning build order?
is it a winner set of mind?
is it knowing the inner gears of the game? (dps / weapon modifiers / etc..)
is it finding a solution to a problem instead of winning about dis balance?
well you got the point, whats your opinion? |
too bad my partner didn't counter sniper spammed with guards, anyway no complaints he held pretty good.
too bad he had no at nades and i had to save him from a base rush by flame HT
too bad we finished me dealing twice the damage
but no complains... he had some good calls in the game
moreover i might add that the opponents were prob not bad as this win bumped me up over 50K in ranks
but it seems they gathered their victories simply by using this spam tactic, too bad spam pays of in this game
featuring:
1) stolen panther
2) 2 cons vet 3 with shreks (too bad no bars)
3) sticking to t2 until call-ins as soviet
3)brumbars used nicely
4)lots of PG |
the is2 alone isnt what make it great. it is great because:
1) it can be self repaired / accompanied with guards and their abilities
2) it can be defended against tiger if the tiger is winning by ramming a t34
3) it is usually supported by mines because soviets usually float loads of ammo in late game.
4) it can cap points on vet 1, very useful for recaping center in long games when most inf is dead on both sides
elefant is the real only problem this tank has i think.
|
what i learned form this game:
- capturing a mg with cons squad under fire is a bad idea more so if they have a precious flamer
- p4 can take out t34 in long range with almost no damage taken
- after german opponent hits t3 t34 is a battering ram with a gun
- tiger can one shoot half health of is2 on one occasion or make no damage in 3 shots on another
- p4 sometimes drives as fast as a t70 for some reason (no blitz)
- mine can cost your opponent a panther
- throwing your opponent into ATG or sniper rage is awesome
- sometimes combat engineers can defeat grens with no weapon upgrades on both sides
- vet 3 cons with a shreck are mean (i wonder vet 3 cons with shrek+flamer + lmg)
- t70 can penetrate a tiger from the back
- german strafe is useless in the wrong hands |
i did a very good early game, but due to micro mistakes and poor choices i lost the late game.
really appreciate some tips
my general strat with this doc is to go t1->t4 or t2->t3 and then wait for the doc tanks the is2 or 2 85s. i really wasted my early game advantage because i built lot of fuel caches instead of getting units simply because i didnt knew what units to get |
to simplify think its just that:
when two players meet when good means a player is better then the other
bad ost vs bad soviet = bad ost wins
good ost vs bad soviet = ost wins
good soviet vs bad ost = soviet wins
good soviet vs good ost = you can't tell
in other words it is more forgiving to make mistakes as ost vs not pro players, as they are less familiar vs soviet powerful tactics and units.
in many of my soviet games i saw that my opponent don't really have a clue what to do after losing early game (except rushing p4) i guess just because he is used to win early game and after seeing isu he
quits. and my elo is not that high so i guess i mostly play against average ost players.
that very much reminds me vcoh as it was more forgiving to play wer vs ame player that is not a pro and can't vet up his rifles / m10 train + AWM / snipe micro. all you had to do is survive and vet 3 inf and tanks. |
i wonder how many do play multiplayer... cause if its like 500 a day our of the 5000 a day total users, that kinda negates the importance of multiplayer / balance etc.. in the eyes of the distributor |
crew repair is also a doctrinal ability of 2 soviet commanders so it should work.
anyway, if the ability is in the game it should work otherwise it should not be in the game.
t70 is a tank that survives due to mobility i would rather repair the engine instead of the health really, t70 with damaged engine is dead meat.
as usual german players ranting about any soviet unit which is not inferior to theirs...
t70 is there to punish german player for heavy t2 vehicle / t1 inf build and i am glad its there... |
well i have a bit different proposition.
i think that in general low tier units in a game should not be high-risk - high reward.
because most new \ average players will build them even without precise knowledge of their correct usage. so they probably will lose quickly in the early game and get frustrated therefor not enjoying the game therefor not recommending the game therefor harming the game success which is surely not in the interest of the game designer aka relic.
the conclusion is that t1 german sniper should surely cost less. it might be nerfed to keep the balance, but it surely have to be cheaper so a scenario of a player losing 360 mp in a blink is excluded.
if we want to have a powerful & vulnerable sniper in german arsenal it have to be in higher tier (maybe t4 "elite sniper" like the KHC in COH 1)
if unit is vulnerable the correct way to use it is to keep it far from harms way, so for a sniper i think increasing range would do the trick. |
the whole idea of langres wath the cut offs. i mean that what all the early -mid game was about.
as i remember it you either go for the safe rout with +10 fuel or you go for the direction that tend to be cut off for the chance of 2 +10 fuels + tendency for controlling the center VP point.
in coh 2 there is no such choice really. the resources are mirrored precisely same on both sides of the center VP
