imagine LoL with 5v5 and every player controlling 5-10 units (champions in this case). its balacned in 5v5 because players only control one unit, not like coh at all.
I'm not talking about the balance. 4v4 is more balanced than 1v1 or 2v2 at the moment. I'm talking about the competitive scene because some people think doing 1v1 is what the game is all about. |
Stupid suggestion that will water down faction diversity via increased mirroring.
When I face Ostheer, I know I have to play with the MG42 as a looming threat. I know I will need smoke or indirect fire to kill it.
On the other hand, when I face OKW, I know that the Kubelwagen is a threat I'll have to deal with via others means -- typically a Captain's bazooka, an AT nade, or an AT gun.
This is a classic instance of PEBCAK.
And when you play as Ostheer or OKW, you have to face against a Maxim, Vickers or .50 cal HMG. So.... |
Remove volley fire on RE's and put the ability on the m1919 lmg. I think that would probably be the most balanced way without making it OP.
Because at the moment the m1919 lmg's are a bit lame ever since they removed the defensive stance ability from the rifle squads. There's really no point in even getting the lmg anymore when the BAR performs almost on par with it and is cheaper.
The m1919 lmg needs a use other than just straight up DPS. |
League is like.. one of the most competitive games out there and it's 5v5. 1v1 is nice and all and I used to do hundreds of 1v1's but it gets pretty stale after a while. Especially when CoH is not meant for 1v1's. That's for Starcraft. |
Aren't these 4v4 win ratios from random games? Where teamwork matters more on the allied side than YOLO mc-swagging vet 5 obers running around soloing entire armies games?
Because spamming rifles and IS's is hard?
If 1 of your dumb ass teammates gets an MG or pak stolen and it's gg for Axis. And trust me that happens like every game I play where my teammates always have terribly positioned weapon crews. That's not something the Allies have to worry about. |
You must never play then. The AXIS mg's do not play hot potato when getting fire damaged like the russians, and no we do not have a rifle grenade that can shoot off and wipe an entire MG team before being suppressed like the USF's.
I believe the kubel it's a good substitute for the beginning, with flack translating into the mid. Ha if you want everything equal how about you give all the allies bases flack? Give us ISG's that can be spammed and instant pin ? (the howi can't be spammed without losing) Or allow our bases to move around and shoot flack?
Each faction has their advantages. OKW doctorine MG's is not one of them. If you wanted it, give us a dodge or a scout car that has the suppression of a kubel that can take 2-3 AT hits as well. Or a base flack base defenses.
You can't have everything. OKW is about combined arms suppression.
And giving USF a mortar squad would make them OP too right? |
I play USF and I agree that USF/UKF are brain dead factions. Funny when I play with my friends and we try out OST or OKW, they have no clue how to even use cover or set up MGs. Playing with my friends as Axis, we can't even win 1 game.
Yet when we play as Allies, we somehow are magically on par with top 50 players. It's not even that we're good because watching the replays, I see my friends lose squad after squad and just doing retarded shit while the Axis play flawlessly, pulling off amazing grenade play, MG set ups and micro and we still end up almost dead even.
That makes absolutely no sense to me IMO.
I wish for this game to be balanced, but I gave that up a long time ago. This game will never be balanced and it will take another 4 years for Relic to iron out any of the bugs. It'll be just like vcoh, dead by the time anything gets fixed. |
1. Armoured cars didn't come that fast although they came fast, but it kinda had the same place the Luchs has, only more squishy, less HP, could be damaged by small arms and comes earlier.
2. Scout cars AFAIK didn't really suppress anyone. They were relatively combat ineffective. A rifle squad with stickies can easily take it out anyway.
That's like saying a rifle squad with nades easy take out MG's anyway so what's the issue giving OKW a MG? And yes, the scout cars in vcoh did suppress when it was locked down, it just took multiple bursts. |
If you pick it with a doctrine, then you sacrifice other things such as not being able to build JLIs, fusilers or a heavy Tank Destroyer. So for that kind of choice, I'm perfectly fine with it.
OKW is a faction, like PE in VCoH, where units are very high risk/reward, except for Fusillers, Volks (which underperform) and now the Pz 4J. There is no other faction in the game where you get heavily rewarded or punished for your choices as you would for OKW (or that was the faction design anyway, due to recent balancing, its kinda fallen flat)
After all, in VCoH, PE didn't have MGs, had high reinforce squads but they did perfectly fine against allies then
That's because they had 3 minute armored cars that chewed rifle squads apart. And yeah, they did have a MG platform, it was the scout cars that could lock down and prevent territory capture.
It does make sense since Relic game is about asymmetrical.
OKW does not have non-doctrinal mg, get over it already.
If OKW get mg, then usf player will want pershing at tier4 to be same with Ostheer Panther.
Soviet player will suggest the same thing with T34/85 and IS-2 to counter King Tiger.
And finally, you get a mess of a game.
tl;dr:Go play Ostheer if you want best mg at tier0.
Um. Nobody is talking about Pershings. We're talking about OKW's suppression platforms. |
OKW's stock MG with Ostheer MG42 will simply lock down entire map for Allies in team games, seriously. And keeping in mind that OKW also has ISG (that counters any indirect fire weapons due to it's range and accuracy), T3 Flak building and floating in manpower every game (resources for this shiny only manpower toys), this will clear entire map from Allies in each game, even in 1vs1.
MG+ISG will become new meta because especially US and UKF can't do anything to this combo. Even soviet's mortars can't do anything because they will be simply wiped out by ISG.
Does anybody here ACTUALLY play OKW? Do you know that you can already do this by just choosing LuftWaffe or Fortifications Doctrine? It's funny that you're trying to argue against having the MG34 as a T0 non-doctrinal unit because you're afraid of the imbalances it will create, but that strategy is already possible.
It doesn't even really make any sense why Relic decided to make the MG34 doctrinal. There's is absolutely no good reason why OKW's MG is on a commander other than they just wanted to make OKW different. |
