might i ask, what is the point of this thread?
Shhh, let the Great Nullist of Finland teach us the WW2 history |
And?
You where after all, a soccer moms kid yourself.
Did that turn you into the kind of "soccer mom kid" you described then?
If not, it kinds of makes the term pointless, doesnt it.
I had never heard of it before this discussion. I call bullshit on it.
You either, just want to argue, or don`t really realize what a "soccer mums kid" is.
I said my mom was too demanding of me in ways you described, but what you describe is not the commonly known "soccer mum", it`s more like "a mother who failed to achieve something in her life and is trying to push her kid to achieve what she always dreamed of" I hope you understand the difference now |
I dont know how the initial term of "soccer mom" has even been extended to their kids, or been changed for what it meant 10 years ago for example.
In my experience, soccer moms referred to the overbearing, demanding, unreasonable, and frankly batshit women who lived vicariously through their kids hobbies, by regimenting their lives as if they where in the military and jamming as many activities that they perceived as conducive to the child getting an "edge" in life and being the "right kind of kid to get accepted in college interviews", as humanly possible, no matter if the kid wanted them or not. Then showing up to the sports events themselves and cheering them on like a psychopathic banshee, belittling the other kids efforts (as well as their own kids, if they didn't meet their high demands), bitching at and with their mothers in petty social laddering, and generally being complete bitches.
I've never blamed the kids for how their mothers where, nor should you, nor do I think how the mother behaves (or the father, which was traditionally the one who was batshit insane like this, and wouldnt accept his kid and was deeply dissappointed in him unless he worked his ass off day in day out being everything their father WASNT or wasnt as "priviledged" to be able to do in his own childhood).
I dont agree with your terminology at all, nor with blaming the kids for how their parents behaved.
What you are referring to, are the kind of casuals who want everything, now. No success required, no challenge, they just want it automatically.
And example would be one of these types demanding that they immediately get the lvl 80 Infantry Bulletin, instead of having to grind matches to earn it. (which I am doing myself, at an infuriatingly slow pace)
I dont see how that connects to what I've understood as soccer moms, at all.
My mom used to be like you describe it, but she quit trying when I turned 16 XD |
So what does "soccer mom kids" mean to you people then?
Means no matter how bad you are at something you will get the same medal as the winner... Is this a bad thing? I believe yes, this is how lazy retards who live with their mom until 30 exist. And the guy who wins looses the interest in the competition,I mean why would you try if everyone gets the same shit no matter how hard they try? |
How do you think the Soviet Union got to Poland's borders in the first place?
By teleporting over Eastern Europe?
The Soviets where invading Eastern Europe SIMULTANEOUSLY as the Nazis where invading Western Europe.
Ah w/e, won`t start this discussion again. Can we talk about the campaign and not about who invaded what and why? |
I also didn't really understand the whole ''No Soviets are heroic!!'' complaint. Uh, yes, they were? The only evil ones were the Commissar, which basically comes with the job, and the Colonel who shot himself over it later. All others were either neutral or portrayed in a positive light for being courageous, and the main character is few things short of a saint.
Show one bad person from the good guys side and everyone looses their minds.
As for the main character, he looked like a sissy.
In VCoH main heroes were Captain America without the fancy costume, all the squad of Captain America`s. Fck even the British Officers in ToV were hardcore "Explosive shell dropped near me, I have a war to win, solo mode".
While in CoH 2 the heroes are some sissies afraid of dying and giving their lives for their country.... This is the general feeling of the campaign, (yes there are some heroic moments). While in VCoH the heroes don`t even fight for their country, they just fight against "Evil Nazi forces" and it`s a good enough reason for the Americans to die.

The Soviet Union was ALREADY invading Europe before the Nazis ever even launched Barbarossa.
Nah, we just split Poland with the Nazies, no biggies there. |
what are the german soldiers talking in documentaries?
No sane person invades Russia without winter clothes, period. Unless your about to be attacked first.
The definition to pre-emptive strike - a surprise attack that is launched in order to prevent the enemy from doing it to you.
By the beginning of the Second World War, the Soviet Union had more than one million well-trained paratroopers. More than all the countries combined. But wait, anybody knows that you don't train 1 million paras to defend. I bet they didn't tell you that in documentaries lolz.
They invaded Russia without winter clothes because they thought Blietzkrieg tactics would work (at least it worked everywhere else) They expected to win the war by capturing Moscow before winter (apparently they thought the Russians would give up if they would loose their capital). You are right no sane person invades Russia, it doesn`t matter if you have winter clothes or not, you just don`t fck around with this nation, period. As for the fact the Stalin was probably preparing to invade Europe is true. I mean you have Europe killing each other you wouldn`t leave that chance go to waste would you? |
Hitler rose to power particularly on an anti-communist billet.
Infact thats the primary reason he was appointed Chancellor.
Its not about "justifying" it, simply stating one of the primary reasons why the East Campaign was so important to the Nazis.
Then I miss-read, sorry. Not bothered with another Sov vs Nazis fandois fight =) |
Booby trap: 90 Muni. Pios can rig a building to collapse when ANY unit enters them.
Asymmetrically aligned vs Demo, in that it makes the building unusable for Ost too, and cant be placed just anywhere, only in buildings, whereas Demo can be placed anywhere.
Holy shit, yes please!!!! Best idea ever along with the directional sandbags.
But make sandbags to be placed as blocks and not a fcking wall. Also make it destructible by Medium and Heavy tanks |
