The following is taken directly out of the staff forums and is not really well explained. It's part of a guide I and others once started to write regarding the mechanics and stats of CoH2. Never really got too far as motivation quickly drops.
You are one of the most reasonable person to post here, I like your charts and explanations, if you still intend to make that guide, a lot of posters would appreciate it, including me ! |
Sturmpios got nerfed alright, but that seems reasoneable, because having a unit armed with StGs on early game was something really disturbing, unless you had your first encounter with them on an open field, you always have to retreat until you get more units to outnumber them.
But, in this state I think they need a reduction on cost, something like 290 MP would be nice. The long reinforcement time should be maintained.
About the ostheer part, I think the faction balance is heading in the right direction, panther now has more frontal armor than the Tiger, the panzerwerfer is still quite good, and the brummbar is still useful.
Now I dont get it when you say allied troops are more spammable and unstoppable, it's quite EASY to spam grenadiers armed with G43 or LMG42 (although I havent tested them with the new lmg42), but the way I see it, blobbing power is the same for all factions, I dont think allied infantry should get nerfed, that is not the problem, the problem is blobbing with ALL the four factions.
Have you ever tried the 8 volks armed with schreks "strat" ? it's terrible in 1v1s, but on team games works very well. |
That video actually made me sad. |
Eh, patch notes for CoH2 on test server and actual train schedule in my home country are two most heavily government hidden secrets.
Wikileaks is your best bet, but I doubt even them have access to any of the above mentioned.
Hahaha exactly ! |
There is a ton more I'd love to say but NDA -.-
I dont get relic's NDA for beta testing, really, I heard starcraft has open betas and anyone can see changelogs before they are released, that gives people some perspective, and everyone can see the hard work of beta testers or the testing department.
All this secrecy tends to make people think that nothing is beign done. |
But you could always upload the mod to the net and let everyone download it right?
Yeah, but it's the same situation, the best way would be to purchase the skin on the store, so anyone can see it.
Or they could make something like Dota 2, where the best/most voted skins on steam workshop get to become official, so people can buy or drop them. |
It was disabled to keep people from taking the DLC's and making a modded game to play it, instead of paying for it. ToW stuff was probably the primary concern but they might've been concerned about the DLC skins too (take the skin of your choice and just change it so it replaces the default skin).
But then only you would be able to see the new skin, this kind of modding is for client side only, just like in coh 1.
I'm not sure why they haven't tuned to workshop support yet. Workshop could allow people to make and release mods while being fully regulated to keep down illegal content and punish illegal creators. Probably easier said than done.
I think that's the plan, but hey, it's Relic, they take a lot of time to do stuff like this, just look at the time it took them to make workshop avaible to coh2. |
Looks like an awesome "strategy" hahaha
You could try using an Elephant, it one-shots SU76's. |
Also, the units gets slow as shit, by the time it gets out of the smoke, you have shelled the spot at least three times.
Happened to me once, some guy used white phosphorus barrage, then shelled the smoke, there was nothing I could do except watch my unit die |
It CAN be detected by minesweepers, the only problem is that you cant shoot it when visible like in CoH 1.
But you can always thrown a grenade. |
