Or just remove the Gunner BS (range, agility buffs and the commander option). Increase Hp to 800, Armour to 235. Increase price. Penetration should be mediocre. Maybe buff it a tiny bit (like 2-3% more chances to penetrate).
That way E8 is a brawler that can escape Panthers, but can't really stand up to them, unless in tandem. And with Radio net and veterancy, you would get a good tank squad. One that could roam the map much more easily than the Jackson due to increased survivability/agility.
I don't understand why make it some sort of a retarded copycat of the Firefly. If there is one thing that USF does not need, it's another long range TD
Nope. gunnery skill is very good. i think this patch is very nice. 50 range anti infan and tank dont exist in this game. it is very useful to proctect tank from anti tank infantry squad such as panzer grenadier squad. However you think that m3 half-track isnt good option to rifle commander. why this patch adds to rifle company? i dont understand. |
Here's an idea.
Turn the E8 into a Jumbo instead.
Slower speed, more armor, same gun as live.
That would actually give the USF a meatshield capable of being a good combo with the Jackson, similar to how the Churchill-Firefly combo is for the Brits.
Gives the USF a role in team games as well and everybody is happy since the E8 will have a more distinct direction compared to the 76.
um. my opinion is so different to your plan. i think that ez8 isnt good to change jumbo. otherwise 105m Sherman is so similar jumbo's role rather than ez8. changing 105 Sherman to jumbo is better than change ez8 role. |
This idea is very nice to change 4v4 arty-festi meta. it definitely neeeds next patch. It is same idea for me to change walking stuka.
but we needs buff another option for Okw such as puma or luch. |
Continued Wishlist:
Easy 8:
I think we've seen 3 reworks proposed for this unit now, but none have really hit the mark for most people. I've seen at least 2 other people suggest that they emphasize its speed and toughness over the earlier Sherman variants, and I'm inclined to agree thats the direction to go.
Let it continue to bully P4s, but make it fast and tough enough to get out of situations it can't win. Make it a legitimate threat to crush infantry and flank bigger tanks, while being tough enough to make it out alive.
Rangers:
I'd really like to see them get another ability. They are just so bland for an elite unit. Things like Fire Up, Smoke Grenades, or even Camo would help differentiate them more from Paras.
Greyhound:
I'm told they were considering further changes to this, but its still not a very exciting unit. I personally don't think 50cals should have variable costs, so I'd actually revert that buff in exchange for a better timing. It doesn't need to hit as fast as a Stuart, but it'd be nice to see one before the 10 min marker.
Infantry Company:
Its a pipe dream, but I'd love to see the Halftrack replaced by Rangers here. It would give the new Rangers a doc with the 1919, and give it elite infantry to further differentiate it from Rifle Company.
Heavy Calvary:
Swap Smoke Barrage for the 240mm in Armor Company.
The doc actually isn't the worst thing in the world for 1v1s right now, but since the big complaint about it seems to be its performance in teamgames, I would suggest moving the 240mm Barrage out of Armor and into Heavy Cav. If it keeps the LeFH killing power in some form, it will at least bring something besides the Pershing and Rangers to team games.
Recon Support:
I get the idea behind the Raid Tactics change, but I'm just not sure how useful it would ever really be. The doc is loaded with munitions sinks already, and USF already has the ability to cap with its vehicles. Fast cap or vehicle capping abilities tend to be among the least powerful tools you can put into a doctrinal point, it needs to either provide more combat/utility, be balanced entirely around cooldown, or else dumped to make their Paratroopers to be more affordable.
i likes these ideas. especially infantry company is very good option to replace half track to Ranger.
Ranger needs more skill such as Camo or explosive. |
yeah, when i glanced over the patch notes i thought the m5 was added, which would have been a great addition to the commander, especially for double officer builds. the m3 always feels a bit underwhelming to me, though i guess others might find a tougher reinforcement/healing platform than the ambu useful at times. still feels like a wasted ability slot for me... although with echelon flamers in the same doctrine USF now finally gets a flamer clown car of their own.
Most of this patches are good or even better. but m3 half-track is definitely not good any other buff to rifle commander. this own flamer car will be countered by 222. |
+1 for changing m3 to any other unit like rangers or m1919.
There is literally no point of having m3. Or at least it m5 could have been better.
i think that even m5 isnt good selection to rifle commander. they dont need mobile vehicle. |
I wouldn't call the M1919 an offensive upgrade for riflemen already because that RM/M1919 has been nerfed some time ago and is more a defensive upgrade than anything else.
Giving the M3 to riflemen commander is a bit of an overlap with mechanized and I don't see much people using it on 2vs2 because it requires quite some micro to keep it in the right place to support correctly your moving infantry. To me the M3 is a new waste of slot for this commander.
i agree your opinion. it doesn't make sense. m3 half-track must be replaced to any other skill. |
I technically agree with you.
Rifle Company should have been probably Rifleman Field Defenses, M1919A6 weapon rack unlock, M3/M5 Halftrack, something like Marksman/Sharpshooter training that maybe takes up 1 or 2 weapon slots, similar to the British Recon section from the old CoH and either a Sherman Jumbo or 105 since those were the 2 types of dedicated "infantry support tanks" so to speak in real life so they thematically fit here but the Jumbo would have probably been the best and most unique choice.
Instead it's got some of these changes years after it's initial release (Field defenses and Halftrack) and still doesn't make sense why there are flamethrowers for the RE or an E8 when it's supposed to be just a better more maneuverable version of the basic Sherman.
i have a good feedback this commander patch. it is to replace urban assualt company ranger to assault engineer. and Rifle company M3 halftrack replaces Ranger. that is amazing good effectiveness for each other company
|
rifle company had had a veteran rifle squad before the launched WFA. i think that ranger have similar role. way better than m3 half tracks |
i dont understand why m3 half-track adds rifle company seriously. this isnt good patch for rifle company. rifle man doesnt need mobile half track. they just need more fire power or special infantry. i think that rifle company needs a better weapon such as 1919 or call-in infantry such as Rangers.
m3 half track must need to replace another skill. |
