Indeed that little snippet that was played sounds very noble and fitting with the game theme. I did a bit of quick wikipedia reserach into the CoH composers. Turns out Jeremy Soule also did the soundtrack to Skyrim Elder Scrolls (an excellent work), Ian Livingstone did the Napoleon Total War soundtrack and Inon Zur has won several awards (never played any of the games he composed for). Relic do well in getting the best to do their sound.
Barton, you can get the albums on the CoH page on steam, should be an option to download two sets. They have also been put on Youtube

Thanks for the link.
It seems like they won't touch it till after COH2 (the optimistic one says)..... |
Not exactly players, but I feel the composers of CoH deserve some recognition for their stellar compositions in the game. The soundtrack really adds to the enjoyablity of the game and enhances that WWII feel. The fact that each faction has their own tracks, and that the track sounds different depending on how close to the action you are, just improves the quality further.
Yup, a thumbs up to them. (And download the two albums off of steam while you still can) |
A standing army today is today more about boasting than actually fighting wars. The discipline makes them seem more organized and better, though spending every second of those parade lessons training for survival would make them better warriors, parades and stuff make them a better army.
True, it is a political statement. But to roughly quote an SAS man, how many soldiers can hold their nerves together when they are being shelled in foxholes so intensively that they can not even think. Anyway, I think China will never enter a war they don't think they will win. All it takes is one Vietnam or Afghanistan and the governmental structure is toast. |
What it says on the tin, let's list out all of bugs/problems on the steam port in the hope that relic will address them.
-Automatch searches never complete after the ping sound is made.
-Leaderboard rankings have the same number as the players officer rankings.
-Leaderboard only displays the top 50 positions.
-Players can now hack to their hearts content as their is no system to referee them.

after years of civil war, humiliation from Western countries, 8 year war against Japan... they are now a true superpower with biggest army ever, 1 billion citizens, well equipped and extremely trained soldiers and what is more important - they don't owe money to anyone, if they would ask now Mericans to return their money to them, what Merica would say? I heard they had plans to give them some technologies but i don't know if it's a good idea
about vid - nice one MVGame
Parading about in synchronised, straight lines is all very impressive. But the time taken to learn how to do it, is time not used to learn survival tactics. Plus, soldier spam is not good against MGs (COH as proof). |
Oh......
The music track is Sabaton, Panzerkampf. If anyone was curious. |
The soviet ram ability as Relic had envisioned it. Also, what's up with the eclectic mix of tanks on the one side, someones has been recrewing wrecks on the field methinks. |
I discovered this series recently, it is very well done. Argueably has a slight bias towards the soviets, but then again it is taken from their viewpoint. It usually stays above the politics though and provides a decent overview of the events in the Eastern Front. I think being an Eastern Front officer had some of the worst career prospects in any war, one lost battle and it's the firing squad.
Maybe we can start a thread for recommending good reading/viewing material, seeing as this aspect of the war is less popularised in the west. |
ROFL.....
Maybe we can see MaximumGamer on top again in 1v1 and TheBlackParade aka MiguelAngelRelaoded - on top lvl 20 in all 2v2.
They just have to boost some more games so why would ANYONE even bother to play games for the ladder when these can just boost 5 games in 3 min??? What is the point your making?
Has anyone ever recorded a match against them, are they legit? |
