Good point, no I wouldn't release a shoddy unfinished map if I had a choice. After reading this news post and watching the video It isn't clear that it was that unpolished. On top of that a lot of the bugs that would be reported would be reported wrongly, causing us to go on wild goose chases for bugs we can't replicate due to them being reported wrong and potentially leading us to find fixes for things that aren't there, and in turn cause more bugs/issues. I am also aware that Relic doesn't fully release all the mod tools needed for endeavors like this. Undertakings like this mod are enormous and are made much harder without access to all the needed tools. My hope is they will see mods that have promise like this one and support them to a reasonable degree. What I was getting at earlier was that I would be confused if the mod was in a reasonably ~95%+ish polished state at some later date and it was still unreleased to the general public. We want to keep in unique to the SMC tournament so most likely the mod will never be released to the public. Access has been a hot debate, and sadly this will not be public ever. - SMC Team That is like if I made Crossroads and only people who played in my tournament could enjoy that map for that tournament, and I decided to keep the map away from the public forever. People would, in the end, not care much about Crossroads, nor should they in this case. What it would have brought to the COH community would never be knowable. That would be a very strange decision. I'm curious why put this much work into something that the vast majority of people can only watch and never play? Also if people aren't going to be able to play this mod, why should anyone care about it? My sense is you guys are shooting yourselves in the foot with that decision, am I wrong?
