Thread: Map veto stats25 Jun 2018, 19:18 PM After making your vetos and you begin searching, you can still select a map from the list. Is this then your vote to play this map? If you do not select a map, is that a vote for random? My point is, most people do not click to select/vote for a map to play. So the 'random' votes would outweigh the selected votes? So seeing fluctuations seems normal to me. NOTE: Most PC code does not produce perfect random numbers. In: COH2 Gameplay

This sounds smart to me. Tell him to run infantry in front of his tanks to sight for them. This way other tanks and possibly AT guns will target the infantry first allowing your tank to get some shots off before retreating. But pulling up taking a shot and repairing is a good way to gain vet and not lose the tank? You do not bleed any manpower. But you do not advance much either. And the enemy may guess where you are repairing and arty you hard. Or push you since they know your tank is weak and leaving the area. If he is a defensive player maybe he should defend both his point and your point while you go offensive. He should also build mortar and arty out the ass. In a 2v2 you usually want just two points. Trying to get the 3rd means you are spread out and you will get 2v1'ed and run over. In: Strategy Desk
Thread: Ardeness Assault MP maps into automatch22 Jun 2018, 17:02 PM Just a quick observation from the posts so far: 1. Most of the maps shown have WAY too many buildings. 2. Can a 1v1 map be too large? These maps remind me of LaGleize which to me had too many buildings and was too large. And was removed from automatch. Thoughts on large maps: - Make for boring ESL type games since they will be longer and have less action. - Be troublesome for newer players who do not have the micro to deal with having units all over the map. - May induce more RNG losses since you could run into more MANY vs ONE situations. Like I always say: go left win the game, go right lose the game. This is multiplied as the map gets larger. But I am digging Nigos excitement In: Summer patch 2018

I think making the bush walls longer and adding new ones where its marked with green, removing the stone walls, making the gap on the left base exit wider and moving the bunkers to fill all the gaps should fix this. One option is to put yellow cover objects in front of the walls. So you have GREEN in the base and YELLOW outside the base. I am a fan of having objects help you fight OUT of your base. From your base it should be: BASE -> Green ->Yellow. Same with garrisons by your base. Should be: BASE -> Sight blocker -> Garrison. In: Summer patch 2018

Thread: Ideas on how to rebalance Charkov 21 Jun 2018, 05:04 AM I am a 2v2 nub but as a mapper I would do the following: 1. Get rid of one of the fuel garrisons at each end of the map(RED). 2. Either move the south fuel garrison to the north or move the north garrison even further north. 3. Rearrange buildings 1 and 2. They are way to far north. They both need to come south by about 20 meters or more. They are also oriented square to the enemy, where 3+4 are at weird angles which may make an MG search to find targets. 4. The middle sight blockers need opened up(YELLOW TRIANGLES). This map always feels cluttered and narrow with major late game engagments happening in the little corridor created by the sight blockers. The angle is opposite of the base locations. So vehicles have to manuever thru a wall of team weapons(YELLOW DOTS) then turn abruptly to fight. Then retreat into said wall of team weapons. Then enjoy some nice artillery fire because everything is clumped in the little pocket by the cutoffs. 5. The long rock walls in center MUST have at least one opening added near the middle. Big enough for team weapons/light vehicles to get thru easily. In: Summer patch 2018
Thread: Port of Hamburg21 Jun 2018, 04:11 AM Just a few things that could make the map play better/more enjoyable. The main balance issue was fixed in the last patch (north team middle area opened up). CHANGES 1 - 4 WOULD HELP A LOT. CHANGES 5-7 ARE NICE TO HAVES 1. Remove some of the cargo containers in mid VP area (RED). North of the VP should just be removed. the two south of the VP could be switched out for a medium crush type wall. This area is full of units late game and the containers create bottlenecks and limit areas to hide from mortar/artillery. Removing one of the northeast containers would help even more (YELLOW). 2. To assist light vehicle pathing the cart (BLUE) could be moved more south east. A section of sandbags left of the cart could also be removed to open the area even further. 3. The eastern VP needs some cover added for the south team. When pushed from the fuel/vp area there is little no cover which makes it hard to fight back in to position. South team usually gets rekt once this happens. Could also remove the corner piece(RED) of wall since it funnels your squads and limits sight. 4. Someone needs to look at the brick debris piles. Should they be removed? In the worldbuilder they have very strange sight issues. They block sight when several meters away but gradually allow sight as you get closer. Player position is GREEN dot. This may help push MGs but also creates ambiguous engagements. Especially for new players. 5. Remove the section of pipe that ties the left and right industrial area together. This would create another flanking option. 6. Remove a section of the southern train (after the burned out section) to open another path. 7. Create more space in areas where OKW/UKF/USF armies need to setup. Late game there is limited space to put OKW trucks/ambulances/HQs etc so artillery becomes very effective. Remove or reposition objects (GREEN ARROWS) in these following pictures to create more space for HQs.. In: Summer patch 2018
