Are you subscribed to a lot of things like maps, skins, face plates, etc?

I have a suspicion that these types of bug splats are from COH2 checking for the latest versions of the items you sub to. So if you have a LOT of things subbed, COH2 needs a lot of time to check all the files out before you play the game.

So if you jump right into a game lobby, it pauses these background tasks. Then when your game ends...Bug Splat as it tries to continue updating files etc.

So you could try un-subbing to a bunch of stuff. And also wait a little bit of time at the main menu before searching for a game, to give the steam stuff time to update.

You could also do the steam check for the game files. Maybe one is bugged.

I suggest loading into the lobby and searching, after a few games you realize you will never get a decent team or a game where someone does not bug splat, then press Alt-F4.

Most OP strat I have found so far

Does this have anything to do with dragging the mouse while clicking? Seems like if you drag the mouse at all, the game takes it as a facing direction and ignores it?

For the LULs I decided to log 100 games as OST. We always talk about ELO hell so I thought I should take a closer look.


Here is a chart of the 100 games played. You can see the classic ELO hell SINE wave pattern early on. This gradually settled down towards the end. These ranks go from 11 - 13. When I started this quest I was rank 14 in all factions of noob play but had recently dropped to 11 as OST due to ELO hell.

INTERESTING STATISTICS
Of the 100 games played 50 were deemed almost impossible to win scenarios. This is due to Premade teams, shitty match ups, droppers, bug splats, etc. 29 games were completely impossible to win losses. Zero chance of winning.

Of those 50 impossible games, 8 were actually won. Due to enemy bug splats, drops, or win. As ELO hell goes that is 8/50 to our benefit or 16.0% win rate.

Of the 100 games 11 were bug splats. 11/100 = 11%. Of the 11 bug splats, 8 were the enemy team and resulted in a win 8/11 = 72.7% win rate. 2 of those games, all players dropped and it turned into a 1v1. Both games were won. 3 games my team crashed and all were losses. 3/11 = 27.2%

Of the 50 normal games played 40 were won and 10 were lost. These were generally good fun games. This gives us a win rate of 40/50 = 80% for possible win games.

Of the 100 4v4 games played there were 180 enemy players who were on a team. 100x4 enemys = 400 possible players. 180/400 = 45.0% were team players.

Of the 100 games there were 38 against a full premade team. 38/100 = 38.0% against full teams.

Of the 400 players I played with, 10 were toxic asshats that could be removed from the game and I would be ok with that. Each was in a single game for 10 cancer-inducing-make-you-want-to-choke-the-shit-outta-some-one games. 10/400 = 2.5%. The number of very cool players was much higher than this. So that is a good sign for the community. Another way to look at it is 10/100 games were asshats or 10/100=10% of games played you had to deal with a booger-eating-moron-pinging-asshat.

SUMMARY
100 games played and 48 were won or 48%. 10% of games has toxic players. 11% of games had a bug splat.

After this study I started playing Brits. 6 games played and only 1 was playable. Then deleted the game.

CAVEATS
There are a lot of variables such as map position, faction line ups, etc that blur the lines. There were also a couple matches where the premade team was very new. These were not added to the premade/impossible lists.

It was a very interesting adventure indeed.

This was a tournament level game! It was so epic! So much going on.
