The sector assault ability in overwatch is still a bit bigger than the minimap circle suggests. That should probably get fixed. Also, it's a rather long ability for something that has recon, suppressive strafes, and targeted bombing runs all at the same time. Basically means you can't go on that part of the map with anything for the full duration unless you have AA. I know there's other abilities sort of like that, but most of them don't have the same wiping potential that the bomber in the sector assault does. |

Yeah but it'll hit the cover instead of the squad. Same as every other tank though, that was just in response to the comment that the panther's dps is halved against inf in cover.
EDIT: Are you sure your stats are up to date? Because I'm looking at coh2db and the only thing I see in the comet's favor is that it does more far and mid AoE damage. If I'm reading it right, the comet seems to have more scatter and inferior AoE distances across the board. The comet's reload is also ~2 seconds slower and doesn't get any vet bonuses for firerate. |
Volks can fight have strong field presence and scale while also having cons level of utility. And dont eat muni to be at full potential.
Cons cant fight dont scale without doctrines and eat muni to preform on a base level while also requiering specific side tech. but have same level off utility as volks and can give field presence to other units. And can become durable through vet.
All in all volks punch way above their price class off 250 mp. Cons are actualy balanced imo. Volks need to loose either utility or dps/scaling in some way.
I kinda agree with that. IMO they should be 27mp to reinforce considering utility and the fact that they really do practically trade with riflemen until the very late game and 120 muni investment into each rifleman squad. Add onto that their much better timings for weapon upgrades and grenade access and some nicely timed vet bonuses (-10% RA at vet1, better than "unlocks AT rifle grenade" or "tripwire flare").

And IS2 should be the cherry on the top of an soviet army, being able to fight Panther, Tiger H Aufs. II, Elefant and Jagdtiger. And so it shouldn't bounce.
A change to 1000 pen wouldn't kill the balance, but the IS2 would get an advantage to fight a King-Tiger and would allow the IS2 make some damage frontal versus heavy tank-hunters. If you manage it to come close enought with the IS2, then it should also work as spear-head.

And Ostheer needs something to hold against tank-hunters in larger multiplay games. Something that isn't OP in single-player or 1vs1 too. And Tiger is in the right spot, if you increase its range a little bit. That is because all Ostheer's commanders stay in a good spot for that change, because they lack in PaK43, scope and Elefant. There are even Tiger commandes without tactical-smoke. And a Tiger without smoke has no chance to escape any realistic fight.
Making a unit with guaranteed pen is pretty silly though. It goes against the entire mechanic of armor and the IS2 should probably just be buffed some other way. Increased pen would be fine, but not guaranteed against all targets.
Ost has elefant if you really want to counter TD spam in team games. Pak43 works too. |
With its 960 hp, it can without any thread of engine damage drive up point blank to all but AT squads with AT nades. After all, it'll be engine damaged only after 3rd AT nade or 240 damage.
Yeah but that doesn't happen a lot. Too risky of a move without knowing whether there's other AT in the area except for maybe doing it defensively.
Comet just won't hit stuff at all behind cover though, it seems like. I'd only count on it killing infantry out in the open, and pretty slowly at that. |

I'm gonna disagree with y'all; I don't think it is worth the effort 5 years into the game to try and readjust all these units when they mostly work fine. Consistency is good but they really work good enough already. There are bigger fish to fry.
Yeah if it ain't broken don't fix it. Even if almost no one understands how or why they work. |
