It is like saying, Oh, give Shocktroops all bolts actions, make them have upgrade to PPSH. I think they are fine the way they currently are. They are 4 models only. They drops like flies similarly to Pzgrens when vet 0 or so. They need to vet in order to become durable. I think it is ok the way it is. They have utility costing ammo. I think it would be utterly ridiculous if they had on top, costing for a weapon upgrade. Paratroopers, which are pretty directly comparable to falls as they're anti infantry specialists, cost a lot too and they don't get weapons for free. Heck, so do obers. Paratroopers are also super squishy in terms of RA but are 6 men to compensate. I take bigger issue with the fact that falls have fausts for some reason. They're the only elite infantry that has any sort of snare and IMO is a bigger incentive for spam than not having to upgrade weapons. In: COH2 Balance

Thread: Machine Gun(s)20 Apr 2019, 00:21 AM Personally double .50 is nice but I'd usually rather have one and use the spare mp to get some sort of elite infantry or if I'm airborne some other support weapon (like pack howie or ATG if I need at). I'll only do it if they're blobbing really hard usually, but rangers or paras with thompsons backed by a .50 do an even better job of controlling blobs IMO. In: Strategy Desk

The idea is you have a second squad with the Cav Rifles to put the damage out. In practice, USF doesn't have many targets for it: I can't think of many infantry matchups where Cavs aren't more effective pumping damage out. Put it on an Ost unit and you can use it on Shocks, Rangers and Thompson Paratroopers though. I'm all for combined arms and stuff but if you're 2v1 then you might as well just facerush them with thompsons anyway. That's an interesting point actually. And yet panther can do it. Which was the point I was trying to make. But yes, when you make an SU85 you make it to kill tanks. When you make a panther, I would hope you usually make it to kill tanks, but it still gets to kill infantry. IMO this is fine but its worth pointing out when you brought up that SU85 can self spot. What is your point about it? Why are you not comparing the pre-patch USF with the new one in means of diversity? Why only matters meta commanders and OP if possible too? In the end this is a community patch (not a balance one) maybe if we all become alittle humble about a mod team still working on the game. Balance patches can be added but with the propper address, not some BS like "this commander is useless" I am comparing commanders because that is how you figure out how relatively good/bad a commander is. The new USF commander is very lacking compared to other commanders, which is relevant because I'd rather just pick any other commander instead of shooting myself in the foot by picking something that comparatively won't be as useful. I don't understand why that's a question or what's so confusing about that. Remember you can only pick one commander and not every faction has access to everything they could foreseeably need without picking a commander. Community patch doesn't mean it's not a balance patch. If there was no balance in mind in making these commanders I want a commander with a 0cp, 200mp kubel that shoots flak 88 rounds at 700rpm of of the mg34. In all seriousness, that logic clearly doesn't hold up especially in light of pgrens, ostwind, and stug changes, all of which are balance changes. "This commander is useless" is not what I said, but even if it was there's no basis for calling BS on the sentiment that it is useless. It's also frankly a little unprovokedly confrontational and rude. But give me one reason why I should pick that commander over literally any other USF commander. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Error: failed to create dump file15 Apr 2019, 01:19 AM Anyone get a crash and that message like 1-2 mins into starting the game? Like not even a match, but just launching the game and sitting in the lobby? I'll have this happen to me consistently every time I start the game for like a day and then it magically goes away. I've tried verifying the files and restarting but neither ever solves the problem. It almost never does this for more than a day for whatever reason though. It's bizarre. In: COH2 Bugs

Cherrypicking abilities to make it "usable" was not the concept of the poll to begin with I mean, i see people crying about USF commander but people voted for it in the first place. Even those who claim the commander is weak suggest ideas out of place and dont respect at all the concept that most of people voted... The concept is fine. What people (at least myself and some others) don't like is that everything the commander has with the exception of rangers is not worth picking at all. Compare this commander to any of the okw commanders (except feursturm lel) or even existing usf commanders (even rifle company IMO ffs) and it really doesn't stack up at all. Since that's the case, it should be tweaked to remove that issue, but "well people voted for it so take it or leave it" is neither a solution nor a constructive move towards one, and is completely irrelevant to a balance discussion. Ad populum. Just because a bunch of people believe something doesn't make it true. IMO it could be a good commander but as it stands everything in it is really mediocre with the exception of rangers. Calliope is really meh offensively and is still the most expensive rocket arty, rifle molotovs are overpriced and tied to nade tech (I'd like if they unlocked with 2 officers or 1 officer and the officer sidetech), and echelon rifle nades are just ok. I'd much rather pick literally any other doctrine USF has to offer because at least all of them have a couple things that are worthwhile. In: COH2 Balance
