A flare is a tool used ingame to aid in a situation. A t34/85 with Tiger stats is just a laughable overperformace. There's no similarity there. Although the T34/85 based on price alone argueably matches the current Tiger, it's still asymmetric.
Is it that good though? I've seen replays of top players that dared to go Luchs and it doesn't seem to be that potent tbh, except maybe vs UKF, but even then, it seems to take forever to kill anything if you sit at max range with it.
What vipper said. Its garbage vs cover, but also uses the point blank mechanism which makes it insane vs brits. Problem vs brits though is that the AEC arrives sooner than the luchs (no joke) given equal territory. The overall DPS is decent for price, but you need to catch squads AFK or on retreat for wipes. Personally its just not worth it to me, but I was never much of a light vehicle player anyways.
thats good for flank checking yes. I forgot about that while writing, but it doesn't help too well with jackson taking pick shots. It last for 10 seconds, which is 1-2 shots for the jackson. Yes you can attack ground, but that runs into issues with more frequent misses and gets exponentially worse with elevation changes. I still select rifle co sometimes just for those riflemen flares when I'm running 1-2 jacksons. They're nearly untouchable with proper flare coverage.
+1 from everyone else. Also tac map. Tightrope is a big supporter of tac map and rightfully so. Not all top players use it, but there is no other tool that can give you so much information just at the press of a button. Rebind it off numpad 0 preferably and get used to opening and closing it frequently.
I'd rather give flares to all factions. USF especially when I play them I find their tools very powerful, but I can never get vision on hunkered down opponets to pick away with my jackson or find a soft flanking spot. M20 doesn't cut it lategame due to fragility and I'm not too fond of sending in a rifleman to be shot at by an MG42.
I'd rather them attack the reasons its so potent. Either tone down the vehicle, which is questionable currently, or make allied AT guns more accessible for USF and give UKF snares. Soveiets have had the easier time vs the luchs with cons being meta and with that often t2 coming out.
