I don't think you understand how easy it is for good players to get high spots on the ladder in relatively few games. And why would you want to keep anybody out? You want the best players, and as many of them as possible. Comments like yours just trigger me, sorry.
Using the ladder is an interesting way to get people to play in automatch. I think it's a weird way to quali for a tourney, sinces ladder-ranks can be manipulated pretty easily, but I understand that it's a method of getting people to play ranked. I'm curious to see how that part works out.
The ladder is certainly an interesting way. I am also looking forward to see how it plays out. Yet you are a bit wrong about that being hard to get on high places in a relatively few games. Aimstrong was back for one day and he had his rank 4 brits back, the ranking system is a bit flawed in that respect.
The only point I am making is that yes we want the best players, but we also want the best players that actually regularly play this game and don´t just come back when there is some money to be made. |
No offense to you either but that idea is stupid as hell. Why would the fact that a player only plays two factions be a reason for him not to enter the tourney, if that player thinks that gives better chances to win then let the player do it. Honestly everytime I hear people crying over me and aimstrong (not sure if this comment is towards me and him but Ill assume so) I can't help but think how low some people on this community sometimes are. A tourney is a place for high level play not the favorite streamers to win.
I see your points, fair enough. Yes this was aimed to you and him. I mean no disrespect but you two mostly, and aimstrong especially, show up when there is a tournamenent with money to be made.
You and him are some of the best players I have ever seen, but I can't help but feel sad when insanely active community players have about no chance to win any large price in a large tourney because you two decide it is time to play coh2 again when there is money to be made.
Again, no offense to you two as persons, I don't know you. Yet I know more people in this community think this way, but as usual they don't say it, so I will |
Will you guys make it so that each player that wants to participate should have a very high ladder rank with each faction? This would leave out certain cash grab individuals that only play one or two factions regularly or irregularly , no offense to those though. |
Regarding Brits, I don't think that applying blanket-nerfs to the entire faction is the way to go. That is, unless you want the Tournament to look ESL-style (i.e., there are only 1-2 viable build-order/commanders per faction).
- Anvil is quite strong, as long as you don't build Churchills
- Hammer is OP
- Hammer + OP doctrines is ridiculously OP
Thus:
1. First, nerf the no-brainer stuff (Cromwell/Comet crush), tank commanders
2. Then, nerf OP Commander units and abilities and bring them on-par with non-DLC commanders
3. Then, nerf Hammer, a lot (Additional Comet nerfs, Emergency warspeed) to bring it on par with Anvil; not higher; nor lower.
4. Then, and only after items 1-3 have been applied, stick additional nerfs to Cromwell as necessary (e.g., teching costs, moving accuracy, price-per unit; in that order)
5. (Be prepared to implement compensating buffs to the faction; e.g., rework Anvil, fix Centaur, fix 25-pounders etc)
In short, Anvil + non-meta commanders, don't need the heavy nerfs that Hammer + meta commanders require. That is, unless you want Brits in the GCS tourney to be like Soviets in ESL (i.e., only 1-2 viable build-orders/commanders per faction).
PS: Emplacement nerfs are orthogonal to these, as I don't suppose you will be seeing that many emplacements in your matches. Simple no-brainer fixes:
- Ban emplacements from base sector
- Brace also reduces incoming healing by 4x (Brace has TOO good synergy with stand-fast & Advanced Emplacement Regiment NPC engineers)

Up the cost of Maxim to 300mp, increase building time. Reduce t2 building time and Mp cost a bit to leave the 1st maximum out around the same time.
300 is way too much. Losing one maxim would be way too expensive. Rather tune it´s reinforcement cost, suppression of model health. |
But uhm if you patch this out and by the blessing of the RNG gods your Sturmtiger gets abandoned and captured by your opponent, you can then never recall your sturmtiger unless you destroy the one your opponent has.
Or are you suggesting that the mine related bug should be fixed and that a rear armor mine hit shouldn't abandon the sturmtiger?
My suggestion: remove abandoned critt. |
Maxim suppresses in one burst. It is the most effective braindead a-moving unit of the game. |
This is a lesson in not buying in game dlc or currency for real money. Just wait for the games to on sale or find them in the low budget bins.
This is why I never buy ingame currency, buy ingame dlc or get a game at launch. |
- Wrong. If Hitler had invaded Britain, Europe would have been lost to the CCCP, which were readying
for a mass invasion of Europe. Tons of Tanks, tons of planes, tons of supplies. Tons of PARATROOPERS!!!.
(with German maps and cards saying surrender! in German).
- Hitler's assault caught the Soviets by surprise, with all their staff in Moscow.
- Hitler - might - have won, but he was slMossolini who decidedowed down mainly by to attack Greece,
a Neutral country. This made Greece turn to the allies for help, welcoming a torrent of british into
Greece. Mossolini got beat by Greece, hitler squashed it in a month.
... by then, it was too late. Never again would his tanks see the outline of Moscow.
(which was undefended when he first set sight on it).
It is so nice to someone catch on to reality. |
