Mortars are balanced |
The only issue i've seen so far is how you cannot use the Soviet and Ostheer structures as USF. (They're all messed up)
But other than that...
The mod is amazing. |
Can anybody make this possible?
The USF would start out with a Barracks, or the Final Command Post (But you still have to tech up in order to get tanks, it can produce rear echelon aswell though)
Infantry Sections can build the Tier 2 Command post to get Royal Engineers that can build both Tier 2 and Tier 3 Command Posts. |
I didn't misunderstood, I disagreed. In my view the best way is Paratroopers spawn by airdrop; if the spawn from ambient buildings then it's better to call them Rangers seeing as they get all sorts of cool upgrades that deal with pretty much everything Axis has to offer. Code Talkers could be Pathfinders with the camouflage and can hide from minimap, deploy beacons that hide other units from minimap (think Nod Stealth Generators from Tiberian Sun/ CnC3), plus usual landing beacons for the paratroopers, and can spawn from ambient buildings.
That's the only way to make it worth being called airborne and infiltration.
You just described the entire Company design. |
Maybe as a vet1 unlock, spawning out of ambient buildings and raping a bunker sounds overpowered, especially if they have upgrades like Thompson SMGs. How it works is just like Panzerfaust: a guy pops out a bazooka like weapon, fires shot, and has an anti-building damage AOE occurs. It can stun tanks and do good damage against buildings. Hell it can even be a directional shot like Pershing's HVAP shell/ Firefly's Tulip.
Bazookas however is a no-go, you already have non-doc unlocks, plus units like Captain. IMO last thing USF needs is a squad that can get bazookas as upgrade when it can already just go back to base.
I'm sorry but you got me thinking of this:

Ohhhhhh, Alright, I can see your concern, i'll get to balancing right away. |
I'd rather the M18 be an ability similar to Panzerfaust/ Grenade. Seeing as how historically it was a poor substitute for the Bazooka but excellent artillery support, it can be a targetable equivalent to Bundled Grenade/ Satchel Charge. That way it doesn't introduce balance and redundancy issues as you would replace bazooka upgrade with dropping M18s to you and allies' units. Allies will need a form of anti-fortification ability anyways, given OKW trucks and Ostheer bunkers.
This would also remove this from the list of commander abilities an make Paratroopers more powerful and unique from the other commanders. Also being a bit demo-oriented it replaces satchel charge.
Being an upgrade that just gives paratroopers better AT is redundant since bazookas already exist, and M18s didn't replace bazookas either.
Holy snapple, that sounds like an awsome ability.
Alright so Paratroopers will be able to fire an M18 shell/canister/rifle grenade at tanks and buildings?
I might make the Bazookas an upgrade in friendly territory like Zak said. |
Paradrop M18 sounds very good to me, it's strong and can combine with other tactic or your teammates but not op.
Woot! |
Hey guys how does a M18 Drop/Bazooka instead of an upgrade sound? |
I agree with nee. I presumed the Infiltration Paratroopers to be like water downed commandos. With SMGs for close quarters and aggressive tactics, and satchel charges.
Also I think he meant the Code Talker to be more of a long range reconnaissance unit, similar to the Jaeger Light Infantry squad. But not to be completely utterly useless like the Jaeger is.

Zak beat me to explaining it. |
