... I just wrote an entire reply to this thread and then lost it because the forums wanted me to sign in again. Sigh.
I'll try to sum up:
I'm a purely British player that thinks making changes to emplacements to promote more dynamic gameplay is a good idea.
One option is to take out the mortar pit and instead put a side tech option for a mortar inside of trenches at 200mp and 6 population cost. That would make trenches more valuable, mortars cheaper on front but more costly with multiple, and overall be easier to counter. Especially if the Brit player is careless.
Somebody also made the suggestion that the UC could be given a side tech option to have a mortar. I really like that option because it would would make the Universal Carrier much more useful and give the British the possibility of being aggressive early on. I especially like this because the UC is so fragile that it would have to be carefully managed. Sure, you could stick it in a sim city, but one shot from a tank and it would be done. There is also a (small) chance of it being abandoned for use against the UKF player, something I think OKW/Wermacht players would have a riot with. Great suggestion whatsyourface.
The final suggestion (and the much broader one) is to just drastically reduce the effectiveness of brace and greatly increase the health/armor of all emplacements. They would still be tough to take down, but much more easily counterable. I'm not a huge fan of this suggestion since it wouldn't make the British more dynamic, but I do think it would be a significant improvement from where they stand currently.
That's all I got, try not to murder me with your words. Thanks!

I think that they are *mostly* fine. It has always annoyed me though how the OKW gets an automatic AA gun with their T4. I also agree with the suggestion that planes should have health (as long as that is easy/doesn't break anything... which it probably will). It would make it more consistent at the very least. |
Organized how? Size or Official/ Community/ etc?
Ideally, I would like to organize the downloaded maps by size or name. At the moment however I'm at a complete loss on how to organize it at all other than unsubscribing and resubscribing to each individual map. |
I hope this is the right area to ask this question.
I have been playing for a while now and have downloaded quite a few community created maps. I've recently been running into a slight annoyance where the maps are too unorganized and difficult to properly sort through. It's not a big issue but I am wondering if there is a way to get them organized without have to unsubscribe and re-subscribe to each of them individually. |
According to Wiki there was a 2 Pounder Gun variant of the UC. Should give option to upgrade UC with that to counter the 222 spam

Seriously though, UC does need some love... I wouldn't opposed to allowing garrisoned squad members to shoot out of it. They could always balance it by only allowing 2 models to shoot or something if its too much damage.
+1
Give the entire garrisoned squad the ability to shoot out of it and have them "bail out" instead of instantly dying with the car. If those changes were made then I'd be completely fine with them adding the fuel cost back in. |
Im an exclusive UKF player and I really like where its at. It is really effective against light armors and useful against infantry. It wont one shot them anymore but it preforms its role well. |
Hey everyone,
I have almost exclusively bought Cromwell's and Firefly's in every single match since I've started playing UKF but recently I have been experimenting with the other tanks. The results have been... mixed (to say the least). Are my impressions correct or am I just missing something about these tanks?
My impressions:
Centaur- Good AI but I don't know if I can justify spending 100 fuel (and a considerable amount of manpower) to purchase a mobile vickers when (for just 10 more fuel and a bit more man power) I could have an all purpose Cromwell instead.
Comet- I've read a lot of posts saying that the Comet is really good, but I don't see why. It seems like a slightly stronger Cromwell and... that's it. I don't see any reason to lock out Heavy Engineers to spend the fuel on it.
(regular) Churchill- Easily the worst of the bunch. Not that good against infantry, terrible against tanks (at the stage you get it) and far too expensive for it's ability.

same stuff was before Brits, they were laughing that they are not working on Brits and then bam, BRITS
That is true, though I still have doubts about it. Relic is already dealing with balance/bugs with 5 factions, it's hard to believe they would want to throw another one into the mix. |
I like the idea of Relic adding in a new axis faction (either Italy or Japan) but they laughed off the idea yesterday during the Q&A stream, so that's unfortunate.
No input otherwise though I have always liked the idea of a banzai rush if they were added in. |
According to the Q&A stream that Relic did earlier today (around the 16:25 mark) only bigger grenades (such as satchel charges and bundle grenades) will be affected by the update and not standard grenades.
They also said the update is meant to act as an awkward bug fix for explosives which weren't doing any building damage when they were supposed to.
Hope the information is useful. |
