Even if every faction had them in their default BO they would be bad for the strategic aspect of the game. Don't really feel a need to detail why since guys like pigsoup are already doing so. And on the USF FRP, I have to add a further point because it is an example of it: they are also fine in the default BO of a faction, if it is balanced around having it. In: COH2 Balance

You would retreat the low health squads in the blob and keep the others on the field, feeding them back in to the sort of swarming, breathing blob. I have seen many Ostheer players play this way. It is a way to compensate for the long walk home. Also why Ostruppen are so popular. Huh? sorry, what? are you thinking clearly? you argue against your own point. What you say, retreating low health squads in the blob and feeding them back, is exactly what gets easier and you want to do with a FRP. And you say that we would see more blobs if there were none? you're trolling right? you mean to tell me that if blobs recovered slower, we would see more of them? please explain the logic you used to come to this conclusion. I can see why someone would think that FRPs can stay. But the actual arguments some of you guys use to explain why is scary. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: British Forces30 Dec 2015, 20:26 PM Bren carriers suck for one simple fact. Schreks on Volksgrenadiers are too good in this game. They need to be nerfed at long range to be more like in CoH1, whether it's an aim time increase and reload decrease and/or accuracy nerf. To use an argument with support from history (I'm not saying this game should be a simulator), the way infantry AT was used in reality was at short range and in situations which allowed infantry to fire at short range like ambushes, from trenches, in urban combat and such. And those long range nerfs would not affect that. It's more okay that Panzergrenadiers have good schreks at range too both because it makes sense (they are actually soldiers) and because they are significantly more expensive than Volksgrenadiers which makes it easier to bleed them out and "clear the path" for your vehicles. UCs could also get a HP increase on vet 3 or 2. Not a massive one, just enough to let them survive an AT hit with enough life left to not die to infantry fire right after. In: COH2 Balance

Thread: British Base Howi's29 Dec 2015, 18:38 PM My biggest problem with the base howitzers is not that they suck, it's that you need to get a basic infantry squad within close range of whatever position you want to fire at. This works completely against the way you actually want to use it - saturate an enemy defense area before or just as you attack, or for counter-battery fire. Even if they were good you wouldn't be able to call them in. Imagine if in WW1 soldiers had to reach the enemy trenches before they could call in artillery on them, that's how bad this ability is. Brits have no indirect fire and it's a crippling weakness if you need it to win the map and the opponent is not incompetent. In: COH2 Balance

This is ironic since Relic's own in-game description of the faction emphasises their indirect fire... In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Advice for playing Brits?28 Dec 2015, 10:29 AM Never had a problem against quick vehicles in CoH2 with Brits, unlike in CoH1. The armoured car works well against them, has the target tread ability to make it useful later in the game (works great in team games with stuff like B-4s), and while it's not an AI vehicle it is accurate enough against infantry that it can be used to attack machine guns guarding a point or something like that and eventually wipe it unless it retreats (unlike for example the gun of the SU-76). Heavy T0 (I get 6-7 T0 units including the starter squad), pre-empt the enemy's vehicle with an AC, then start pumping out Cromwells ASAP and transition into Firefly+Crocodile+Heavy engineers is what I do. In regards to your second point it's true that tactical support gets an m5 but it does not come with elite assault troops like the Soviet one packaged into the deal. The ostheer callins are much better to compare to because ostheer tech pace is closer to soviets then usf is. Don't g43 grens beat ppsh conscripts? 3CP is around the time when you can get a normal halftrack out anyway, isn't it? and the assault guards aren't an elite unit... In: COH2 Gameplay

It's pretty hard to do I find - the thing does not turn on a dime - but if you set up your approach right, you can push those Brits out of cover all day long. Ugh. T-34 needs to cost less manpower if its going to be garbage. You can't mass it anyway without killing off your infantry because of how high the pop costs were changed to be in CoH2. In: COH2 Balance
