First Wave: Wire off the left of your base from the railcar to the map edge. Build a mortar, upgrade your pios with flamers and tech BP1. Let them attack your buildings, the mortar's going to carry this wave. Use your flamers to engage AFTER the infantry is already shooting your HQ.
Second Wave: Same deal, buildings tank, mortar + flamers wipe. Get T2 plus a Flamer HT, then a Pak.
Third Wave: Use your Flamer Pios + Mortar to kill the PTRS guards, Pak for the Clown Cars, FHT to mop up the blob. FHT and mortar covered all my AI needs, so I didn't both spending MP to recrew the Maxims.
Fourth Wave: Use the FHT to hunt the flamers. They're pretty dangerous, so don't bother building more infantry yet. FHT can run rampant minus the Zis Gun.
Fifth Wave: Build another Pak, use your FHT to aggressively murder the waves away from your base and bounce from wave to wave.
Sixth: Same as before, FHT goes wild. Get a Gren, steal the PTRS rifles with them, you're going to need their snare.
Final Wave: The biggest threat are the two waves of armor. The first wave of T70s can be dealt with by 2 paks + Zis + PTRS grens. Try to deal with the T34s away from the base so CAS can shred them. The last wave is a total clusterfuck and really depends on how close the infantry and vehicles spawn to one another.
Agreed, though the JP4 should have high accuracy as its supposed to be killing medium tanks and the FF should mostly be exempt outside of its weird mid-range value.
To be really honest, Ostheer requres thouse commanders reworks the most. While Soviet has obliviously best commanders compare to other factions, by that I mean that while they have some clearly the most usefull ones, aside from a few, they all can be used effectively.
Agreed. Festung Armor, German Mechanized and Blitzkrieg are my personal favorites since they're about diversity rather than power, as with most of Ost's early docs. I'm not really sure how you would even approach making some of these worthwhile again though, Relic really screwed the pooch when they became obsessed with taking the the hallmarks of flexible doctrines and jamming a Tiger into them, AKA The Lightning War Problem.
What about 100 man RE squads all equipped with BARS
Now I wish I still had my screenshot of a 100 pop RE squad where every man had a flamer courtesy of the Vetgate fix that broke pretty much everything else.
I'd personally add:
Valentine (UP stats but maphax OP and still has crush)
Suxton (UP, pop and cost too high, performance is fine)
Vanguard Officer (Heroic charge is absurdly OP)
Goliath (Rework, loud engine noise + one-shot-wipes makes it miserable for everyone)
Vickers could also potentially use a rework to lower its DPS and increase its suppression.
EDIT: Assgrens are still meh and the StugE arguably got overnerfed
I like the list overall, a few minor details I disagree with but nothing worth nitpicking over.
IMO, OKW's main issues are the leIG's inability to defeat garrisons, the Rak's unreliability and the Luchs' construction time nerf being 20 seconds too long. Most of their issues outside that are Allied overperformance, such as the TD meta invalidating the main strength of OKW's armor.
