If all LMGs occupied 2 slots and 4 man squads used the more effective British spacing, we'd see a lot of Ostheer's major issues vanish. Combine with a few buffs to their underperforming units like Assgrens or Ostwinds and I think Ostheer would be good to go again. |
Easiest fix to a lot of these issues is to limit LMGs to 1 per squad and deal with the insane sapper vet, IMO. |
USF and Sovs are covered, so I'll add Brits.
Mortar Pits are your best friend here, especially against Ost since he's being forced into tight quarters with you as well. If you're bottom, you can use the hedges as cover and use an MG in a nearby building to cover the mortars. Plant some mines around the buildings and chokepoints in the hedges and you should be good. I would also get Bren guns quickly, especially vs. OKW. The open design and small size means your Brens will work wonders while the mortars force him to come to you early-mid. I also suggest AEC, especially against the Luchs, since it'll be hard to prevent light vehicles from skirting an AT gun's arc and murdering your units. |
The issue isn't that they need some idiotic overhaul, it doesn't help with their main issue of RNG wipes. All they need is squad spacing improvements and the double LMG power creep to be fixed. |
Build all three trucks and choose a commander. It'll appear as a sort of 6th ability, a little like the PE Panther call-in in Coh1 (if you've played it) |
I don't think you are using them right.
there are three ways to use them
1. Backup for penals or snipers to chase away light vehicles until vehicles arrive, also using merge to keep up dps
2. screens for maxims and AT guns so you have vision and your enemy can't flank as easily, also merge to keep your MGs holding ground
3. Con spam with ppsh and molotovs everywhere, with rapid conscriptions to keep the cons coming
None of these ever require your cons to actually be as good as the unit they are facing. You either support heavy hitters and support weapons, or use commander abilities to outnumber your opponent.

Also did you guys notice the crew yells "man the mg" when they get fired at by infantry, did the m8a1 have a 50 cal upgrade?
I'm pretty sure its just a generic light vehicle line for the USF. |

A final Axis faction and a few commanders would be pretty neat to see. As others have said though, CoH2's team has likely been mostly shifted to DoW3, so I'm not sure that's really plausible. |
