Thread: Fears for COH2 being too Tank focused3 Dec 2012, 00:08 AM I seriously hope that immobilized or abandoned tanks will become points to fight for. Always wanted that with CoH one were if I got a tank immobilized I had to choose between either letting it die to save the rest of my guys, or try to create a perimeter around it and hold off attempts at destroying it while I get it fixed up. Now with infantry having worse AT it might actually work that way. Would like something aching to the Warthog mission in the original Modern Warfare if anyone remember it, were you create a perimeter around a Abrams tank and fight until dawn while the engies are working on fixing it. Always found small side mission like decisions within multiplayer games to be really exciting. ^^ In: Lobby
Thread: COH2.org Promotion3 Dec 2012, 00:00 AM I remember back when I played DoW 2 a lot a year ago. Everytime there was a free weekend and tonnes of people got on I always told them to go to GR and there is a community to help you out. Also only I who think that smurfing is bad in growing a community? Gotta be a pain when you get this game to get several smurf matches with someone playing insanely weird tactics and stomp you anyway. Gotta be incredibly disheartening. I talked to a mate who knows russian and who told me it meant basically "forward!" or "Go on!" depending on how you translate. We missed out on the Brandenburger Tor though so it kinda puts the last piece to the puzzle. The thumbnail screenshot I took for GR with Germans reloading the 105s were my absolute favorite. Pause the game there and replay that sequence. The details, lightning, animation, my god. The game sometimes look grainy or bad if you pause it, but in motion and in sunlight it looks amazing.^^ Sometimes games sadly think that reality is grey as fuck and therefore make their games grey with shades of brown. It seems Relic avoided that with showing splendid sunshine and nice weather, the kind of envoirament that make me feel relaxed and making you kind of see the beauty in what graphics can create towards the stark contrast of people fighting and dying. That is how you do it! You don't show it as if it is some grey alternate reality that is mentally exhausting to look at, you make it look like reality. I love it. In: News

For some reason though I'm ridicoulusly confident in Relics ability to bring a intense and well made multiplayer experience that will still keep historical accuracy (as much as a game can I guess) and provide a good experience for the one looking for a competitive RTS and for the one looking for a WW2 game. ^^ Conclusion: I think tanks will be stronger, but not too strong. Best thing i guess would be making tanks LoS work as in MoW. (very restricted and dependant on infantry for spotters) In: Lobby

Lumbering, slow and extremely powerful and hard to destroy while infantry of course will have the ability to hold ground and the advantage of mobility. In CoH 1 tanks are pretty ridiculous, ever seen a panther chase a Sherman down a dirt road at super high speed? Or a heavily armored panzer IV shitting its pants at seeing 12 riflemen with makeshift AT weapons coming running? Hopefully (at least in my mind) tanks will be more rare, more of a support unit, and harder to use. Give me lumbering steel giants instead of plastic mediocrity. In: Lobby
