Can I be lazy and ask for a brief breakdown of the DLC? I saw a very brief thread about it but it didn't really clear it up for me.
Does anyone miss COH-O? That was a lot of fun if you excluded the horrific balance they had going. Loved just jumping on and getting 4 v 4 matches, still can't believe they just shut that down. That could have been great if they managed it better. |
Alright, I have seen Relic destroy the most amazing game ever in COH 1 with the release of Tales of Heroes taking a great game and making pretty much unplayable for 2 months.
After that, I promised myself, I would stop supporting Relic but have still been following my man on this website.
I see a special on now so I'm hoping that they haven't failed COH 2 as bad as they did and I'm ready to take the plunge.
Can I be so bold to ask for some advice on which ones I should buy while the special is still on. As far as I can see, its $12.50 but does that give me all the armies, i.e US as well? Is that on special?
What do you guys recommend.
Thanks in advance guys.
Good to see COH 2 still trucking along, hope Relic have been smart enough to look after you guys.

oh yeah baby, bring it |
They need to let everyone know that all the footage seen there was actual gameplay footage. I remember seeing COH 1 footage and ignoring it as a game for quite a while because I could never buy a game that only showed CGI.
Little did I know that it was actual gameplay footage.
Hopefully someone at SEGA reads this. |
sigh at humanity.
The truth is simple. It's more work than what its worth in programming terms. Something like this is a complete programming overhaul and the poor community reps have to come here and spin it to the regular folk.
Bottom line is simple, would you rather GUI changes, side armour or balance changes. You can pick 2 out of 3, this is the decision relic has to make because they only have finite resources.

Kolaris, please change COH 2 for OF and this post would have been relevant at the launch of OF.
I still can't understand why they made the exact same mistakes as OF.
To think, they had a perfect case study in EF as well. They tried change for the sake of change and end up changing it back more towards the COH formula and the game was heaps better.
My god, relic, why didn't you watch how they launched SC2? The community there is far more picky that the community in COH yet they successfully created a great sequel. |
think they would learn after OF disaster.
COH 2 = OF 2.
So desperate for change they break what makes COH so great. |
Ami, huge respect for the site but I am a little concerned at your reaction towards Jim. Are you saying Jim is not welcome?
You guys are going to be the centre of coh and as a result have a lot of power, please try and wield it responsibly.
I think you are forgetting what Relic and THQ did to the community on the release of TOV. They took a product I paid over $200AUD for and left it unplayable for two months. They then release a bug patch which was half arsed and then abandoned their promise to work on a balance patch because they had already moved onto COHO.
Only after massive community outrage did they decide to actually do the patch they promised.
The company is out purely for profit and would have no hesitation to lie to the public if it is in their financial interest.
Welcome negative opinions because if they are wrong, logic will prevail.
COH is a masterpiece, hopefully Relic gets picked up by a company with the resources to prevent Relic from releasing an unfinished product again as well as have a marketing budget.
EA gets some stick but the interface and esports elements they built into c&c3 were awesome, the gameplay was just terrible. Imagine that combined with COH's gameplay!!!

Been noticed just how good the camera work is on SNF.
You can see the poor kid trying to talk with his mouse scolding the shout casters with little movements of his mouse in the hope they will notice the amazing thing that just happened.
He seems to catch all the important stuff in the game and have the camera almost in the exact place it needs to be.
Anyway, I don't think he gets a break where as the shout casters get one.

Tell me Relic have thought of this?
If ever a game needed a voice comm module, it is COH2.
Makes the game more fun.
Surely they could compress the data so that it wouldn't lag peoples connection. At least allow people to turn it off if they have bandwidth issues.
Obviously would need a silence function for kids being annoying but would definitely make game significantly more fun for public players. |
