The other thing to keep in mind is you NEED to upgrade the pintle - in my experience the main gun is roughly comparable to what Stuart does to infantry. So if you are hurting for munitions and can't upgrade pintle right away then it's probably not worth it. In: US Forces Strategies

THIS is the real issue. In a vacuum LEIG is fine - but when you can park them in range of VPs while also being near Battlegroup and/or Flak truck so that they are generally safe for most of the game it becomes a no-brainer. You put 120MM in same position and it would truly be OP. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Thoughts on the M-42?19 Oct 2022, 17:17 PM While not good I think the M-42 is kind of underrated - it's definitely a synergy unit and not one that will make an impact by itself. It's penetration with Camo Bonus and Vet isn't terrible and the ROF means that you can at least punish people if they aren't paying attention to their mediums by either doing enough damage to snare or if they expose rear armor do damage consistently. Plus the Vehicle Tracking can let you get cheeky shots with SU-85 or Zis. I find it best to just park them somewhere in Camo after the early game and use it as support AT. I don't even bother with Canister rounds after they were neutered. I don't find it super useful against LVs since the low damage means you can almost never get a kill unless the other player messes up - it's more of a "oh crap I'm getting killed by LV pressure and need an emergency call-in" unit. Otherwise just stalling for a ZIS or Guards is probably better more often than not. In: COH2 Gameplay
Thread: How do you win in 1v1 in the current meta?14 Sep 2022, 16:35 PM Posting a replay always helps- otherwise it's a lot of guessing with if you're having a build order/strategy problem or a micro problem. Generally speaking if you're having trouble with Quad Mounts or USF AA halftrack then you're going to want at least 1 222. (1V1 in general often comes down to light vehicle pressure). A single 222 won't straight up win against either vehicle but it does a lot to keep them honest using it since you can damage it and force repairs (or if you're doing well finish it off after a snare or 1 ATG hit.) The extra mobility of the 222 also keeps them from just avoiding your single PAK gun. Obviously prepare for the the possible Stuart/AEC/T70 follow-up but the 222 is all about stabilizing your early-mid game and not letting the Quad pressure snowball against you too badly. Double 222 is an option if you want to go for the kill (easier if they don't have many snares or if you are sneaky and hold the first 222 back for max shock value) In: Ostheer Strategies

The sheer number of planes means it's hard to shoot them all down (assuming you even have AA if 1v1 or 2v2). It's anti-everything with Pin + AT Strafes so it's not like handheld AT can help you fend off the tank dive that's next. I'd also venture to say that the AT strafe is more accurate versus mediums (I feel like P47's miss a good bit against anything smaller than a Panther.) The Strumovik Stafe is sneaky good though - it's cheap and has good wiping potential but it's not nearly as impactful as the "instant map control" Sector Assault. In: COH2 Gameplay

To me the premium lv in this game is the puma, not the stuart. I would say Puma would be the axis Stuart. It's a little different - less AI, better at long range exchanges and I would say scales better against mediums but it's the same thing where it stomps LVs but it's not a no-brainer buy because of the fuel investment and it might not equate to map control unless you are losing map control due to LVs. I would say most people would say Puma isn't bad but you don't see a ton of them. In: COH2 Balance
