But I can't imagine, that majorty of playerbase would say: "Oh, Relic don't remove blizzards and deep snows, fuck them, fuck teh gaem, will go to play in Wargame".
More than that - long time it wasn't even issue for playerbase, it all came from "competitve" camp, which is cancer for that game and for all games, which have one. Same competitive camp destroyed unique doctrines, like Elite or Industry, for purpouses of teh "Great competitives". They making CoH 2 boring and not interesting for common players, which are REAL majortiy of CoH 2 community.
Lol, I fail to see how competitive players are cancer for the game. If anything the competitive scene is good for addressing balance issues and creating a better, less frustrating experience. Better balance benefits all players. Sure, a casual player probably enjoyed raping people with 5 min T70 followed by hordes of T34s when Industry was released but I fail to see how that broken crap is good for the game.

Deep snow was removed from certain maps because it was cancer (snow outside your base on left spawn Kod. Ferma was annoying as shit, Semois. had terrible retreat paths that was overly punishing, etc.)
Blizzards were a fun idea that offered some novel tactics but the problem was players rarely if ever utilized them - at most you would have cold-immune Volks capping unhindered or maybe bombing a campfire which is several times less strategic than actively moving units around unimpeded and capitalizing on momentum and pushing an advantage.
Also the "most people" argument is stupid - any game developer is going to make a product that appeals to the majority of its playerbase - unless you really want COH2 to become a dead game, in which case sure, let's keep all the annoying mechanics that people don't like just because a minority like theorycrafting on how "no, blizzards could be totally cool, really!"
EDIT - I also think there was some performance issue where blizzards hurt the game engine's performance or something like that too. Either way, it's not like Relic just removed them on whim. |
Is it just me or do Penals just completely shit all over OKW? Trying to kill Flamer Penals was like playing against the Rifle Company of old... They reliably beat Strumpios due to 6 Men Squads + TLM and STG Volks are a joke against them.
Every match last night felt like Penals -> T70 -> GG I know part of that is adapting on my part but 1v1 OKW feels pretty rough right now lol |
Regarding the Strumpioneer upgrades - you can only get all 3 (Flamer if Feurstorm) if you queue them all up at the same time. Once any of them complete it locks your out of the other 2 possible upgrades
So right now if you bank 180 Muni you can get a super-Strum squad that has Shrek, Flamer, and Sweeper |
Lulz, how long did Relic test this patch again?
Relic, Relic never changes. |
ISU152 has a penetration of 230 that's pretty high given the it's multipurose role (albeit one that's pretty hamstrung due to shell switching and reload time). I'm not sure what that works out to as far as % chance to bounce on mediums but I think it should Pen 100% on mediums.
ISU has always felt really lackluster to me and I never see them in 1s and 2s... I can't help but feel like it needs some kind of love (especially after IS2 buff makes it even more appealing) unless they are secretly good in 3s and 4s. |
I used to have problems but it turned out to be some combination of overheating and using WiFi instead of a hard connection. I have a decent router but adding a cooling fan and switching over to a hard connection eliminated 99% of my problems. The only time I ever have low framerate or stutter now is usually during the victory strike at the end of a match. |
Not my replay but here you go. 38 Kills and kept alive for 40 min. TBH the T-70 wasn't even handled that well in this match... lots of times where he could have chased for a wipe (as the casters point out).

An additional thing to keep in mind is that Commanders often ebb and flow with the current patch/meta - for example German Mechanized recently became popular after more or less total obscurity. I suspect a lot of that has to do with people realizing how good the PZ4 Command Tank is - will that change after the patch? Who knows. Likewise buffed Soviet T4 means less reliance on call-in armor (in theory).
I agree that many commanders could be "fixed" just be addressing longstanding balance issues with certain units (Greyhound, Valentine, Etc.) Other commanders are mostly a complete lost cause because of overlap IE NKVD is a lesser version of Anti-Infantry Tactics for the most part (Better Off-Map and Call-In Tank) and if you want to use it for Radio Intercept or Rapid Conscription there are better Commanders that have those abilities. |
Just because you have trouble keeping it alive doesn't mean T-70 isn't in a good spot. It has a very minimal accuracy while moving penalty which makes it a beast for wiping squads on retreat and its very accurate in general. On top of that its only 200 MP (considering how MP can often be a limiting factor this is pretty big).
For its killing potential and cheap MP cost its really a bargain that's balanced out by its HP (which is negated by self-repair anyway). Any change to its AI power in exchange for HP is nerf. |
