Breaking news. One StuG is now spam. Experts believe that following Feb. 25 patch, 0 StuGs likely to be considered spam. |
Nice replay. Hey, not everyone might like the artillery late-game, but at least there's a good reason to build LeFHs now. |
The Calliope on the other hand is a very high reward low risk unit and can be spammable cuz vehicle decrew.
Can't believe this is still a thing, honestly. But you are right that the Calliope has very few practical drawbacks. Especially given that there's no real opportunity cost (USF armor, otherwise, is fairly weak, so it isn't like you're sacrificing pop/income that you could spend on a hardier unit that you could potentially do more with). Getting one is a no-brainer. |
This was very interesting. An all-OKW arrangement versus an Allied mixed-bag. I know "OPKW" still gets thrown around these days, but certainly that was not the case here. Would be very interested to hear what an all-OKW group could do to push against a diverse Allied team. Certainly, at least, the results shouldn't be as dramatic as in the above replay--a real far cry from the pre-Brit 2015 days. |
So, this happened last night, too (apparently). Had been playing for quite a while and had probably a few too many drinks--actually, more than a few. Frankly, I wasn't sure what map we were playing. I was told to save the replay for later. Here is the replay. |
A fast-paced and intense game between some high-level players. Have I given away too much in the title? Maybe. Either way, enjoy! |
Marowi, funny thing is, from our perspective, you were getting the rep of someone who drops when they lose expensive units. We had no idea it was a lag problem.
You're entitled to your opinion--but just wanna say a couple things. First, I think the only time I've dropped against you guys--intentionally or not--is in the above replay. The other two DCs complained about happened to folks on our AT who were on our TS that experienced the same Internet issues. The second is that, if you watch the above replay, I'm actually doing alright when the drop comes--two StuGs, plenty of MGs and Grens--and I had just taken out your Brit player's mortar-pit and Centaur. So, if I've finished out every other game (believe I have, even where my teammates dropped), I don't know where the opinion comes from. But, I won't tell you what to think. |
Hey, this is {F13}Jack. We didn't DDOS you. There is only one person in F13 who could even theoretically possess the knowledge of how to DDOS, and he gets really pissy when opponents drop from good games. We play for fun, and people bailing for whatever reason is not fun. Your friend lagged out. That has nothing to do with us. This game is notorious for that. Hell it happens to me a few times a week. And given that we use the same TS server that you do, this complaint strikes me as incredibly petty. Grow up.
Jack, happy to give you the benefit of the doubt and take your word for it, but it really has been the last three straight games (since we started paying attention) where something like this has happened and suspicion is not unreasonable. We really were all going, "holy crap, maybe they've really figured out how to do it?" as unlikely as that is. If roles were reversed, I'm sure you'd feel similarly. Could be a huge coincidence or maybe something sketchy is going on--it's not a huge deal (we've won a man down before), and it is just a game, but eyebrows were legitimately raised. |
Thanks. I think everyone agrees it's a really bizarre (unnecessary?) patch.
Actually, on the stukas--the value on Lienne isn't so much the killing (I think they killed a moderate amount?), but the area denial. |
A solid match with very experienced players. Fairly even until late-game Axis armor does what late-game Axis armor does best. For my part, epic fail on mortar HTs, but was able to acquit myself through snipers and StuGs. All-around, solid teamwork and an excellent hold on forest for much of the game. Nice to see an Axis win on Lienne. |
