Honestly I prefer Assault Grens to regular Grens at least in 1v1. Don't mind mixing them together though to have snares. |
Honestly instead of buffing the power creep of Ostheer and Brits I would work on slightly toning down Soviets, USF, and OKW where they overperform. Falls, T-70, Rifles, HE Shells on Shermans etc. Obviously heavy call-ins also make these factions strong as the IS-2, Tiger, and Pershing are especially powerful. Either need more tech to be required for heavies or they need a CP adjustment to levels around what they were before but maybe 1-2 CP's fewer. |
Just curious to see what factions people find strongest in 1v1 after the tournament and from personal experience. My rankings would go USF - SU - OKW - OST - UKF. |
Loved every match i saw,
But i didn't see a single player pick Brits.
The rest of the factions seem to be in a good spot.
I know Asha played Brits for a fact but I don't know about anyone else playing them. |
I see a lot of discussion about how the maps were not changed a lot. The goal of the map patches is not to drastically change maps. The goal is to fix imbalances. Maps that received a lot of changes, only did so because the balance was off a lot.
As an example, Should we change every 1v1 map into Crossroads. We already have a crossroads.
The November patch was originally only supposed to fix minor bugs. Luckily Sturmpanther and Andy let us do a lot more than originally planned. So some of the maps that did not get changes in the previous patch, got changes this time around. And maps that were changed before, were changed a little more to further balance them.
It should be noted that a lot of people helped with ideas about things to change and fix. Just from my personal interactions, notes came from many players like Duffman, Flappy, Ishtari, Puppetmaster, ShadowLink, Jae4Jett, Sander93, Aerafield, and many others. I think Flappy hit me up every other day with stuff to fix
Since we are talking map patch here, I think it is very important to show some appreciation for Sturmpanther. This patch was supposed to be a couple maps with bug fixes. Due to real life obligations, Sturmpanther did not even have time for a small patch, but he committed to it. Six months later we had something like 28 maps updated So big thanks go out to Sturmpanther for this patch. Hopefully RL slows down and he can do another patch someday.
I am still definitely grateful for the map patch as you guys aren't getting jack for all of this work, I just wish Relic would have been more serious about this game a long time ago instead of relying on the community to do most of the heavy lifting. Still thanks to Sturmpanther and everyone else for putting the time in that most wouldn't. |
While I did enjoy the tournament, I tend to feel GCS2 was better in a meta sense and also from a seeding and bracket perspective. I prefer online tournaments but I think the Round Robin wasn't seeded well and the lack of loser's bracket made the tournament end really quickly. On the bright side I think the players preferred a Best of 5 Grand Final to the Best of 7 or 9 from the past. Heavy tanks definitely need changes as they seem to define the meta more than anything from a commander perspective and light vehicles are still too strong and typically require either a vehicle to counter or multiple AT guns just to deal with 1 LV. |
Yeah, I don't think the changes to Angoville and Arnhem made them much better, I still tend to have one of them veto'd at all times. |
Right now my current build with Tier 1 against OKW is the following CE - CE - Tier 1 - M3 - Penal - Penal - Healing - Guards/Shocks - Guards/M-42 - T-70. You want to get the M3 out as quickly as possible to give it as large of a window to deal damage. Penals are alright in their current state but I don't really go for more than two squads due to lategame scaling issues. |
I agree with Hon3ynuts that some of the heavies are balanced while others come too quickly. I would say the IS-2 should require all tech structures to be built before being able to be called in, and maybe a slight CP increase to slow it's timing down while still making it useful in team games. The Tiger should require Tier 4 to be built just like the Tiger Ace and the Pershing should require LT, Captain, and Major to all be teched. |
