I mean I know its cheaper now and rear armour got buffed, but it just doesnt seem to be worth the micro tax anymore. Here are some random points:
Utility is alot less as a support weapon now (maybe someone can show me otherwise).
Looks like its main use is to back cap, which is way to risky in my opinion to send a lone kubel in a shrouded area - maybe even if you react timely, Kubels poor terrain negotiation and pathing has very good chance of screwing it over.
I also use to push (UKF IS) units out of cover early on (works pretty well sometimes if they are not supported)
Can be used for mine-bating - but this takes some setup time and can easily backfire - also makes you play conservatively, meaning you cant run around capping
What do you guys think. Is it worth building it or investing the 200 cp into something else?
Thanks, guys. I was actually about to make a post about dealing with double snipers. It sucks the kubel is useless, i got shot once, dropped to 5 percent health and i never fielded it again after that. Lucky it got vet 1 so i just used it as a radar.
My opponent had snipers backed up by MG and trenches. I built 2 ISGs but had super bad RNG and never hit the snipers for more 30% health at any point in the game, he just stuck around and was moving them a little. ISG was a bad call IMO. I regretted not aiming it at his MG or trench instead of trying to get lucky. Lost me the game due to bad bleed.
This was 2v2 but my allie was kinda noobish so I didn't ask him to field a sniper for me.
I also usually go for Obers, that was also a mistake in retrospect, took me too long to get them out. I just find jagers and fusiliers to be a bit on the weaker side compared to obers.
Anyone actually have any luck sniping snipers with ISG?
Also, who is better it terms of DPS? Jager or fusiliers?
Do they have arc displayed on the map?
No?
Then what would be reason for it?
HMGs use visible arc, they don't auto face.
On map arty use visible arc, they don't auto face.
ATGs use visible arc, they don't auto fact.
Kubel does and people wish it didn't, its a vehicle though so its unique case-call it an exception which confirms the rule.
No reason why PH and ISG would auto fact with their arcs.
Its called consistency.
If you feel so micro taxed, then I have an advise for you:
Aye, consistency is important. Il tell what consistency i saw before the patch:
Indirect fire weapon teams auto rotate, direct fire weapon teams do not.
The reasons are obvious and mentioned in the post above.
Mortars have their own animations. They are able to turn without unpacking (they just pick up the mortar and put it down).
The pack and leig on the other hand use the same type of animation as the AT guns. Meaning when they turn to fire at another target they have to unpack and set up again in another facing.
The shown arc correlates with the type of animation they use.
They are almost identical: Two guys pick up a heavy weapon, rotate it, put it down. Exactly the same, minus the repositioning on the last step that AT guns have once the set the gun down again.
really not sure this is a good base for the argument.
I lost a passive mortar-like team weapon, I would like to know why. Why the LeIG stops shooting at targets in a 360 degree arc after barraging a building while the mortar continues to be useful without me needing to poke at it constantly.
For the 1000th time, do you feel micro taxed when you have to relocate manually AT guns or HMGs?
Why would it be any different to another weapon with displayed arc then?
All weapons have an implicit firing arc. Why not disable auto-facing for mortars?
Is just me or is this the biggest nerf to Howie/LeIG? I mean, no matter the edit to damage stats, your artillery piece will fire maybe ~60% percent of the time it use to before the change, statistically. Its an extra unit to micro now and a very hard unit to micro it is, considering you cant even click on any enemy unit to target them directly in fear of having your ISG run off somewhere. This isnt an MG or AT gun ... not sure what reason behind the change was.
Hmm, I wonder .. if I queue a bunch of attack move commands in circle round the leig, maybe that will work...
They have the lowest reduced ACCURACY vs garrison and cover(their STGs are only -10% accuracy vs cover and garrison, compared to say most squads, whose weapons have -50% accuracy vs garrisons/cover)
All squads small arms generally do -50% damage to cover, including STG obers. Agani the only difference is the accuracy that they deal.
On another Note this guide will receive a facelift, and stats for all the units/abilities in the near future,so you'll have a more clear reference for these types of things
Thanks for the clarification.
Also, the tooltip says that its good at long range. Is that true, or do the Ober STG damage stats resemble other STG stats (effective medium to close range)
