I don't know a lot about IpKai or whatever and his past experiences with both ESL and COH2.ORG, but I would like to thank him for being mature in handling a potentially charged subject for him. In a lot of other game forums, this would've gone down a whole lot differently. |
An interesting piece.
I saw Ipkais forum posts on ESL before and his frustration was very visible and understandable. Fair to post it in theses forums. Valuable to have it there.
Having this as a front page article on COH.org gives me the impression that COH2.org itself sees COH2 going downhill. For me as a reader this very easily gives the impression that COH2.org itself does not care a lot anymore.
The article says otherwise, it states that it is simply a single opinion. Well, that is a weird excuse. Sounds like a legal notice nobody will care about. It actually sounds a bit dishonest to me.
Summing up, I can understand Ipkai’s frustration. I absolutely cannot understand to have this as the front page article. What do you want to achieve by doing that? Tell everybody else to stop working on the site, stop working with relic because it is useless? Tell Relic to not work with COH2.org because they are difficult to deal with?
Frustration is a nasty thing to deal with. Headline articles won’t do anything good about it I am afraid.
He is stating the 'what', but is leaving 'what next' as an open question. I think you are inferring his opinion to a lot of things. He actually states in the article that he wants to be able to work with relic in an easier way, and emphasizes the interest of community contributors to collaborate. You may want to PM him if you are curious about what exactly he thinks should be done. |
I think it is odd that some people play one faction only and commit slurs to all the others. Why would you buy a game with options and restrict yourself to one faction? Just as the great Matin Luther King put it decades ago:
"I have a dream that one day the Wehraboos, Commies, Nazis, Americunts, and Wankers can live together in harmony, not segregation"
(Not meant to be xenophobic or disrespectful to the OP MLK) |
The red army does not need to rush the game. Tier three is strong right now, especially with t-70s (for infantry and light vehicles) and SU-76s (for more heavy duty AT at range, like a weak Jackson), but don't overdo it. Maxims are strong right now, so use them on maps with important building placements. Mines are essential. Late-game call-in armor is pretty powerful. That's my crash-course. |
The walking Stuka spam has already been implemented in the Flex Time Championships, but the heavy armor seems equivalent to the old 'kt win button' theory. This fails because you waste time with no counter because by the time it comes to the feild, the emplacements will already have run their course and AT will be on the feild.
Normally I wouldn't put you on blast, but you kind of put yourself on the line with the sarcastic 'I beat the system' style of writing and I want to explain when something doesn't work. |
After Brits came out, I made sure to keep a howitzer doctrine in my multiplayer wher loadout for this very reason. When I combine this with heavy mine and sniper play, the Brits become cheese. |
222 or puma. Probe with grens. The end. |
Has anyone tried using a "lend lease" ambulance or an m20 from a US player? I feel those would be the best command vehicles if they work.
My gruppe and I are into switching out 'murican vehicles for more versatility. I have only tried it on the jeep so far. Not really sure why, it seems just as good as a utility car. I feel like that way of using a utility car would actualise its full utility. You would have zooks AND the standard weapon and still have a late game application. |
I got some clean satchels and rockets off on the enemy. Clean victory. Good allies. I play as Jouren. |
From the three things you mentioned to begin the thread, it sounds like your probe and attack are the same thing. Since you know quadruple paks are bad for Shermans, you must've assumed there were no paks. I there is a reasonable possibility that there is a pak on the feild, don't lead with armor. If you want to save your grens, make sure you are aware of where you are sending them, and when they find combat. |
