i suspect they are a lot better than people make them out to be, strictly on anecdotal evidence. i felt even at only 10% cooldown, grens were chewing through scripts like hell hath sprung free.
my understanding isn't very holistic, but they seemed to essentially improve timings, almost simulating salvo fire, which translated into burst damage. so, considering the advantage you can gain in a firefight by dropping a squad member early, i think cooldown could be big. i also appreciate the argument made for accuracy: watching a squad memeber retreat through grens that only seem to be shooting to be sporting about the whole situation can be realllly frustrating. |
what's the difference between replacment AI and automatch vs ai? i swear the automatch ai cheats through it's anus. |
So .. what's the problem ... if you want to surrender but no one else does, drop the game. You have stated your intentions that you want to quit. A loss is a loss, and they get to continue playing with an AI.
but, the exp!!!! |
it's easy to say but hard to do, i know the buttoning techique but they got their HT supressing my unit and flamer do the rest, i did move my HQ but it only secure 1 sector, the pios damage and killing my infantry in the early so i spent some MP to reinforce so the lt can wait for that. the bren carrier got it health reduce to half after facing blobs of 4 pios squad and did medium damage to them and force them to retreat. after i got my lt i call in a infantry HQ and get sappers before that, while upgrading piat they already rolled in with HT and 4 squads of pios and 1 schreck gren
infantry can't do shit because they got 3 squads of flamer already and bren as well due to schreck. i can't get stuart because they captured most of the map. the churchill and stuh showed up the same time and church can't do shit to stuh, sapper got wiped after 1 volley of piat. then 2 more free grens stomp in and gg. any idea ?
that's basically the right idea. now it just comes down to practice. try getting your Lt. out as a second unit, it will help your sections tremendously, and heroic assault could also probably alleviate some of the issues in anti-inf.
before your bren gun carrier gets a vickers upgrade, and after you've forced a retreat, harass munitions pts and cut offs with a section inside as well. that will buy you some time. |
i'd like to see it's trail be more visible. i suppose they could slow down the travel time of it, put it more in line with hand held nades, yes, you could fire it at max range, but it would be easier to dodge, turn it more into a positioned skill shot.
(sidebar, i wish the sniper bullet trail was more noticeable as well) |
frankly i'm through with it. it feels like a liability. i'm going to give the elefant a whirl, or go to good ol' standby of cmdtank and paks, and just pray i don't either get outflanked or my paks don't turn into dreidels when the incendiary smoke falls. i swear i must be screwing up my micro or something 'cos they turn into whirling dervish's .... |
bearing in mind: a game goes past 30minutes @50%map you're going to be facing 2 IS2's. that certainly doesn't help the Tiger's survivability.
Because of the Incendiary the Pak 43 is automaticly countered + Pak 40's have to retreat all the time because of it. I don't see many Ostheer commanders have the same synergy.
cmd tanks and light artillery are about as close as you get. maybe spotting scope + elefant, i suppose CAS and fragmentation bombs too: issue with all this being, and certainly similar to the double vision IS2, Wehrmacht aren't in the habit of stock piling resources. |
just realized this trailer is using music from crossfire... one of the worst f2p FPS games ever, so take that as you will. |
When to build Panther vs 2 StuGs?
a: always xD
damage output, stun, vet etc. all that doesn't matter if the sample size you have is small, 'COS THEY EXPLODE WHEN THEY LOOK AT ARMOR :'( |
yeah! the exact same thing happened to me last month after i watched an episode of band of brothers, crossroads. before charging an embankment Cpt. Winters chucked red smoke, as a "signal" not sure what, or why.
what little i could find was an "infantry manual" stating what the smoke could be used for. it seemed it wasn't specific as to x was used for y. it leads me to believe that, that was decided at the operational level and varied quite often, especially when examining the episodes of mis-identification and friendly fire from misunderstandings.
i think the material i found was here: http://www.lonesentry.com/intelbulletin/tt_trends.html
a ctrl+f "smoke" should bring up some cool articles, generally involving axis tactics:
