No my dear boy, your mistaken I am simply a humble observer, no intention to insult and simply pointing out the error you embarked on. The mistake is actually pretty simple observe bellow.
....."historically"
Now if it's just your IMO then it's a simple " I want thread" with no real value to it which is just fine. Thus again reinforces the reason to why should I, or anyone for that matter forum constructive debate when there is noting there to debate, surely your not suggesting I debate your feelings over the units of coh2.
Then again that could be exactly what you seek, which would explain whys you continue to engage me despite my first respond being definitive.
Either way it's a battle you can't win since you already let the cat out of the bag with your opening post. |
Still have not presented a single argument in this case why making heavy assault guns better against fortifications upsets balance.
If you generally want to debate balance and realism, I have create a thread just for that, so move it there PLS...
http://www.coh2.org/topic/47072/myths-1-realism-vs-balance
.......And you still haven't presented a single argument to the contray.
Because YOU feel is underpowered
Because YOU feel like it has no use
Because YOU feel it needs to be more realistic
Because YOU feel that your deployment and use of this unit is unsatisfactory manner is related directly to the performance of the unit and not YOUR use.
none of which give reason for a debate, reason for this thread to really exist and therefore no real reason to respond in a constructive debate when there is nothing constructive about what your pitching. I thought I save you some effort by explaining what the creators of the game position is .
If you got butt hurt because of it that's YOUR prerogative. |
That is a very nice generalization but not very relevant. Realism and Balance are not conflicting concepts. One can achieve balance by using realistic solutions, in fact the more realistic the solutions the better the immersion.
In other words, what you wrote, does not explain, why in your opinion, a bonus on damage of Avre shot against a Schwerer Panzer Headquarters would upset balance.
It's not opinion, it's the direction relic entertainment is moving towards as illustrated many time by them and every time some attempts to engage in a "realism" debate. They already made it clear that they want a competitive game for e sports , thus realism takes a back seat to competitive balance. Before the official forums went down they had a entire thread sticky on top for the sole purpose of outlining that historical debates and realism are not permitted when it comes to balance. Sorry bust your bubble. |

Christ Genobi, when did you become such a History troll?
Lol, if anything you should congratulate me for keeping myself quiet for so long, i mean how many threads have incorrectly stated the Pershing history.
In regards to the question on hand, yes it seems the pershing is too limited for the 1 Heavy tank only call in rule. However many pershing might be a problem in itself as we seen people wait for better tanks on general like the old tiger meta of old, but a price and point requirment drop could help mitigate the lack of heavy tank proper. |
My argument is, it was designed as a medium, used as a heavy for few months and then became medium again.
Well your wrong, if you read the materials I provide you will see that the last prototype of the series the T 23 was designated as the medium until they move up to the t 26 and later finalized as the m26 perishing.Heavy at birth, 're designated as medium as tech evolves, exact same thing as the British centurion tank when deployed in the 50s for the Israel defensive forces.
So like I said get your facts straight |
So I giving you facts, a website of reference and sources
http://imperialclub.com/Yr/1945/46Tanks/Cover.htm
and the your whole argument is based on a typo from a reference photo.
"The PROTOTYPE series BEGAN as a MEDIUM tank upgrade of the M4 Sherman and ENDED as the U.S. Army's FIRST operational HEAVY TANK."
Apparently you lack reading comprehension skills so I capitalize the key words. Oh and one more thing.
Get REKT, REKT AGIAN AND REKT A THIRD TIME YOU FOOL. |
"The prototype series began as a medium tank upgrade of the M4 Sherman and ended as the U.S. Army's first operational heavy tank."
"T26 series were given additional frontal hull armor, with the glacis plate increased to 4 in (10 cm). This increased the weight of the T26 series to over 40 short tons (36 t)"
ENDED as the FIRST HEAVY operational tank
4 inch armor (same as tiger 1) 40 tons vs 60 tons, cast (single die cast plate) that can defeat 88 round.
get REKT and REKT

I don't understand what you mean by "unlimited". You do realize that although the Pershing was designated as a heavy tank, it performed functions of both a heavy and medium tank. Originally, it was designated to be a medium tank, as it came out of the T 20 line of mediums, but was designated heavy to boost morale, as the Americans didn't' posses a heavy tank at the time. Where exactly do you believe it underperforms?
Hey bro your wrong, the "heavy destination " was not for propaganda or "moral" it met the tank board requirements for a heavy as it was originally conceived as early as 1943 (and therefore those standards), it was designated a medium until after the war when a new line of heavy tanks where in design. Learn some tank history before spouting your nonsense and get rekt. |
Actually, most infantry was equipped with at grenade which can destroy any tank that got too close.
Hollywood movie and Relic games are exception.
Except no no they weren't, relic portrays that every single script, nader and rifle squad was equipped with anti tank capabilities is very inaccurate, ideal yes but realistically not close, at gernades in particular where also incredibly unreliable and most of the time ineffective. Even if you manage a hit it doesn't guarantee damage of any kind. Reason why modern army's relies on AT dedicated teams. The At Nade was a ww1 weapon used to eliminate slow moving tanks, much has change since the war, even in ww2. |
