Since counter sniping isn't really a thing anymore indirect fire weapons are one of the best ways to deal with a well micro'd and supported sniper. That is why I'd argue reducing the Ost sniper to 80 hp so that he is vulnerable to indirect fire is a good idea. It is true that the Sov sniper can occasionally survive a mortar hit with one man but as both models only have 48 hp each a mortar shell can land further away from a Soviet sniper and still kill him when compared to regular 80 hp infantry. Specifically a normal mortar hit kills all infantry within a radius of 1 while a normal mortar hit kills all Sov sniper models within a radius of 1.6.
Counter sniping is absolutely still a thing, a Soviet sniper will still 1 shot an Ostheer sniper. |
I'll say i have other problems as Soviets than being able to kill or clear a building.
The KV8 comes in more than a few Soviet doctrines, it's just icing on the cake and cheaper than teching. Really the only issue it has is that it has lower armor than the KV1 for ~reasons~. |
It's a shame i'm more scared of a Sherman on HE or a T70, than a pure slow doctrinal AI tank.
Blame flamer crits being the most bullshit thing in the game, flamers should just do high consistent DPS instead of randomly wiping squads.
EDIT: But yeah it's unparallelled for killing buildings. Worth it just to kill the Schwer in a matter of seconds and clear out buildings. |
i doubt people will notice 25 armour increase. this thread popped up about 4hrs into the patch. that says all.
A 50 armor decrease is 20% more chance for all weapons to penetrate. So giving it 25 would just bring it up to being 10% easier to penetrate than before. |
This thread was created on the SU strat section, as I started experimenting with this faction and playing 1vs1.
T3476 is pushed back or hard-countered the moment it hits the field. KV8 has a low burst duration and shitty range, so it can't do what it's supposed to do.
The B4, although it's not a vehicle, it was a reliable AT before the nerf. It's an inaccurate useless shit now.
The KT still has no counter, 3 ZiS and one IS2 were shooting turds at it and all they managed to do was reduce its health to 40% maybe, which got repaired and came back in less than 1 minute and destroyed the remaining half-dead ZiS crew lol. And the schreck was just the icing on the cake.
Yup. A mobile, spamable version of pak40 available at the first second of a match. It got buffed with no cost adjustment.
Uh, you know that a Pak40/Rackten is just as likely to bounce shots versus an IS2 than a ZiS versus a King Tiger right? The IS2 has the advantage of speed over the KT, and it has excellent pen at point blank range. Use that to your advantage.
Also the KV8 is the best truck counter in the game, it melts them extremely fast. |
They are as easy to spam for OKW as they are for soviets.
All you have to do is the same as soviets-which means not upgrade anything and rely on combined arms.
OKW has no combined arms, you have no support weapons and you lack the fuel income to produce vehicles reliably.
Every mine is 37.5 munitions. The OKW reliance on the Shrek means anything not spent on them in the early game is a significant set back. Especially when the schu mine is likely to often just be hit by a con squad and kill few models then it is to be hit by a tank.
Soviets don't have any munition dumps, OKW is nothing but munition dumps. |
The amount you save is so small, its not worth the additional micro to do.
It takes up a lot of population cap and the micro is piss easy. Click barrage, when finish hit decrew. Repeat forever.
Well? Is it so problematic? You choose to discard one of the most basic faction features to solve that, let's be honest, small problem? This is simply a perk of that unit.
I wouldn't call Priest pop cap abuse a small problem when it's one of the most powerful things in the game since you can't counter it.

Even if we were to ignore the 2 doctrinal options, mines are a guaranteed snare and they are non doctrinal.
Mines are not a counter for crushing, nor are they easy to spam as OKW either. Crushing is countered by hand held snares, you can't crush Ost armies normally because you will get fausted, you can't crush Soviets because a con will AT nade you, USF and OKW however... |
Everyone knows, including you, its just a matter of time
Fixed for you.
I don't post nearly as much as I used to but anyway;
OKW has 1 reliable snare, the Pfauts from Fallsch. The Pfuss rifle grenade blows ass and takes forever, it's not going to stop you from getting crushed. |
Some are useful(doctrinal), some are useless(stock except Katy and M3 until 5th min).
Stop being allied alex/auster already, puppchen needed to acquire targets faster due to lower top range, its other stats were always decent for the price.
1. lol mentioning me in threads I haven't posted in
2. Soviet stocks like the T-70 are great against OKW, the T34-76's only probably is late game scaling but when it hits the field it does well
3. All the Soviet doctrinal tanks are useful
OKW has no snare, learn to crush and all your dreams will come true. Also the IS2 can bounce shreks like nobodies business as well as Puppchen shots, so go wild. If your sad because a Jadgtiger is shutting you down well then might might need to make a passing attempt to flank. |
