They are expensive and they are not even good at what they are supposed to do killing team weapons.
Instead they die faster than conscripts and are only 4 men squad. How are they supposed to survive>?
Then they cost 26 mp to reinforce which is extreme expensive. SO better just let them die.

And it is the main reason people dont bother with commanders that have them. So after the nerf they are now useless. This needs to be fixed asap!

Every time I see someone try to use Partisans as a replacement for cons, I am tempted to quit immediately. Usually I just wait for them to get rekt and call for the surrender. They're meant as ambush units, not mainline.

There isn't a lot of maps where Partisans are a good choice. They usually spawn and get wiped or have to retreat immediately, but that doesn't stop people from picking them and trying to push a square peg into a round hole.

I just tried Partisans in a comp stomp. Merge seems to be disabled with them. Is that intentional?

Playing AT, if you want to build a ML20, you still need to be able to counter their LEFH with offmap, because you'll lose the arty battle about 80% of the time. Neither howitzer is terribly accurate, but the LEFH does just enough better that it will destroy the ML20 more often than the ML20 destroys it. In general, using howitzers to counter other howitzers isn't usually a good use of pop cap. You're normally better off shelling units fighting over VP's or randomly shooting into traffic lanes or reinforce points.

Playing random, you are limited to Terror or Combined. If you want to go Terror, you'll need someone that can do recon.

As for your original premise about not wanting to be forced into a commander choice, there really isn't a solution. The game is all about choices and counters. If you don't like having to pick the counter, then you can try being the one with the LEFH and forcing them to pick the counter.

I was pretty critical of the first community balance team, but it seemed like they ignored anyone who disagreed with them, and didn't care if they completely screwed over 3v3 or 4v4. I don't know how many people on the balance team have changed, or if they are just listening better and executing better. In any case, the work that they've put into the last couple patches is obvious and I didn't think they deserved the criticism that they received.

I don't really have a strong opinion on the Brits. I've tried them a few times and thought they played better than they did before, but still not so great that I'd pick them over USF or Soviet.

Somehow, people seem to forget that the "massive" RA buff is only 1/2 of the RA nerf that they received in the previous patch. Their moving accuracy got "buffed" to where it is the same as other mainline infantry, but I've yet to see the massive steamroller Tommy Blob of doom that everyone is so worried about.

Most of us agreed that 300 or 310, 8 pop, veterancy, and fixing the barrage AOE profile would be sufficient to make it okay. The unit was badly OP for most of its history so anything more than that would hit a lot of resistance. The AOE is larger than a normal mortar, so speeding up the barrage could return it to it's former wiping glory.

First of all I just wanna say -as an absolute teamgame main- that I think that the teamgame balance is imho in a very good spot, but I wanna try to collect my most annoying remaining "issues" off the cuff. Feel free to comment on it however you want, even if you think some of it is bullshit.

And ofc Im aware that this is only a wishlist in the end and most of it will most likely never get implemented, either because Im wrong and its not an issue or because there wont be another balance update ever.

The game is much better balanced than it's been before. It wouldn't be terrible if there wasn't another balance patch, but it would be okay if there was and these suggestions made it in. I do hope they have another commander patch, with something like Strategic Reserves but Osttruppen instead of Assault Grens and a JP4 instead of the P4.

I'd add:

Lowering the pop cap of the 120mm mortar to 8, and decreasing the cost to 300.
Make bolster take up one weapon slot for Tommies.

I agree on the need for changing the Stuka zu fuss. I've had games with as few as 10 kills with one, and some with over 90. Making it a little less hit or miss and giving it more reliable damage and suppression would be good. It's too good against Soviets and not good enough against USF.

The land mattress moves too slow and has the target size (20) of a medium tank. It is anything but hard to kill. It ends up being almost worthless in 4v4 games as you can wipe it easily. I tried it in a couple of games last month but haven't seen anyone else use it in a long time.
